I loved this vaccum. Great suction, did what it was supposed to. After 2 years it just stoped working. Not sure what's wrong with it. It's dead. I would think that it should have lasted longer than that.

I purchased my vacuum 3 years ago. The suction on my present vacuum isn't like it used to be, but I will never the less be purchasing another of the same withing the next month or so. And I'll have spare parts to boot for the new one.
Pros - Good suction (up until about 6 months ago), no bags to purchase (I empty before each use and it's no big deal, good price, storage is easy because of small size, tools are adequate and store on the canister, I like being able to clean the canister occasionally with soap and water, I keep a spare filter that can also be washed with a high power stream of water, is great on carpets, very light weight, extendible wand is nice for ceiling and behind furniture. It is one of the better vacuumes I have used for pet hair (2 shedding pooches), both power heads get the hair up quickly and can get under beds and furniture. Noise is average. I abused it for a couple of months by using it to vacuum the traffic mats in the garage (we live on a working farm with lots of dirt). This is probably why it isn't working as well. Another plus is that I got free shipping.
Cons - I had to replace the motor belt 3 or 4 times. When it gets stretched out it constantly slips off and I have to take the powerhead apart and put the belt back on until the new belts arrive in the mail (keep a couple on hand and you won't have this problem). It could be better on hard floors.
I've owned many types of vacuumes including upright hoovers, orecks, rainbows, dirt devil's, sears and others. Canisters are my favorite, they all go downhill suction wise after a few years and for the money I can't beat this model. The only other canister vacuume I would like to try is the Meile, but it costs more.

I checked several reviews online about canister vacuums and found this to be an excellent balance price/features/efficiency... Amazon had the best price and fast delivery. Thank You Amazon.

Vacuum cleaner looks cool, that's the only thing it's good for. Purchased vacuum cleaner a month ago and still have yet to be able to use it. The vacuum cleaner has a defective connector assembly for the power nozzle. You slide the wand into the power nozzle until it clicks. Now you pull the wand back toward you and the power nozzle falls off. Being an engineer it looks like a design flaw or they gave me the wrong disconnect pedal or wand. The pin is just too small to hold the power nozzle on. I called Hoover and explained that the connector hole is too big or the wand pin is too small. Hoover would not replace the wand but would send me a new connector. Two weeks later I received the connector with the same size connector hole. which means the pin is too small. Spent an hour on the phone again trying to get a new wand. Again they would not send me a wand for their defective junk unless I send them $50 for the wand. Month later I still cannot use the vacuum. Next step returning to Amazon. I would avoid this vacuum cleaner, it's useless. Not sure how you other reviewers got this vacuum to work, guess you all got the right parts.

I have only had it the new vacuum for a few weeks and so far I am pretty satisfied. Mind you I am comparing this vacuum against a pretty old hoover canister (10yrs+ maybe even 20) and a 6 year old hoover upright (that died).
First thing I like: it's quieter than I am used to for a vacuum. That's subjective of course, and I don't have a means to provided you with decibels. There are three convenient control buttons at the hose handle: one to control turning it on and toggling thru its vacuum power settings (three levels), one to toggle on and off the power brush, and one to turn the whole thing off. This is great because, we have area rugs on a wood floor: as we vacuum plush carpet one doesn't need full suction, because the power brush is doing most of the work (and doing it well), hence we operate much quieter; as we move off the carpet onto hardfloor, one needs more suction, but no brush; so with a few quick button pushes, I can instantly control the change setting to suit of floor type.
The bagless feature is great because it liberates us from the tyranny of having to buy those expensive bags. It's relatively easy to dump the dust canister (I just put the whole thing upside down into a used plastic grocery bag and wipe off the dust from the outside of it with a moist rag or hold it under the tap). The handle of the canister looks vulnerable and fragile, I fear, however.
The metal vacuum tube is a single, telescoping design, in lieu of two separate pieces. Very convenient, lets see how it holds up over the years. The power connection points attached to this this seem also a little vulnerable and fragile.
The Power brush attachment is a little bulky, but appears effective at brushing up from our rugs. The bottom is removable by screws for maintenance (belt replacement) or clogs (in the event of). The Upholstery brush attachment is suction-powered, and is it from turning. Highest suction power (setting) is needed for this attachment.
There is a crevasse tool and a small upholstery brush accessory in an on-board compartment, along with a small brush/awl tool for cleaning the filters. This should help keep one from losing these attachments somewhat.
The power cord has a spring recoil, activated by foot-pedal. Unfortunately, I would again criticize that the pedal appears a little vulnerable and fragile.
The large, bucket-style handle to lift the canister is convenient. Suction is very good; reach is good (wire length, hose length), but not as good as I have seen on more expensive units. The unit is fairly compact and makes the unit a good choice for 1 to 3 bedroom apartment and small houses, with mixed floor types, in my opinion.
Great performance and features, as well as good value for the money so far; let's see how it does over the next year...
