I've travelled with this clipped on my backpack everywhere; no matter how cold outside was it still kept my scalding beverages scalding. Scalding steamed apple juice, lemon-tea, black-tea (even starbucks drinks fit in here but only tall-sized) stayed scalding for hours - some 6 or 7 hours when I'd keep in warm environments, like my room.
This mug actually stopped me from going to starbucks. Thanks Thermos! :D

This mug does exactly what everyone says it does. It doesn't get 5 stars because the little washer at the bottom of the lid keeps wanting to come off, but it has been great on trips.

Hands down, this is the best mug I've ever tried. I bought one for myself 2 years ago when you could still buy it at Target for under $20. I was amazed at how long my coffee would stay hot---5-6 hours (if you preheat it with hot water). No spill dropability! Easy hook on my pocket if I need my hands free. I find the carbine to be noisy and unnecessary. I've gifted about 8 of these out as gifts for the coffee lovers and health conscious in my world.

This is my husband's favorite coffee mug. He drives a semi and sometimes he is not near a truck stop in the morning, which is bad because he doesn't do well without his coffee. With this mug, he can fill it up at night somewhere, and it's still hot or very warm by morning. The only problems he's had are: 1.the plastic ring seal that is located under the lid comes off from washing it. 2.the black handle sometimes slips off, but he fixed that with a strong sealer. However, I've bought him three so far because he lost the first one, and he wanted two in case he loses another... so far he's been keeping a better eye on them. My husband is real picky, so if he loves it, I got to give five stars!

I got the Thermos E5 Mug (E10500) for Christmas a few days ago. It kept my coffee piping hot for the last two days at work for about 6 hours, and I was as pleased as I can be to be a new owner. However, this morning, imagine my surprise when the "leak-proof" mug spilled coffee all over my suit on the Metro train ride to D.C. I realized that the bottom plastic O-Ring (smaller of the two) had fallen off the lid after hand-washing the mug last night. Even though the lid was screwed on tight, the perforations in the lid allowed liquid to spill through.
I have been a devoted Thermos user since fourth grade elementary school when I had a Winnie the Pooh lunch box with a matching Thermos bottle. I am sad that after eons of experience that Thermos can't come up with a more "Fool-Proof" design. I've written to their Customer Service, and I'll report back on that aspect as well. Be very very careful with the O-Ring if you still decide to buy this product.
