I was sceptical about an insulated press, but I needed someting that was more durable than glass. Other stainless presses use silicone gaskets and two piece lids that are hard to clean out. This has near perfect design of *all metal modular filter* and one piece lid that is easy to clean (no hidden caverns, nooks, or crannies). Coffee taste is non-metallic and stays hot till I can leisurely finish of a pot by myself (a good couple hours). I didn't think the grounds brew all that much after plunger is depressed and taste gets only a little stronger over time, but still over two hours in the press is probably not likely :D
Minor annoyances are a spout a little to small for my pouring style leading to dribbles and I think too much of the filter screen is obstructed by the filter retainer plates having fat spokes making the plunge a bit slow. It's more important to have coarser grounds in this press than the Bodum Young press for example.
I think this is an excellent press for the office (of two coffee drinkers) or first press for college student or a clumsy household like mine.

I love this coffee press! It keeps the coffee really hot for several hours. Very little grounds get into my coffee cup when poured. It isn't too small nor too large. The fresh coffee taste is pure joy!

IMHO, the trouble with french presses is that the coffee does not stay hot long enough SO I bought this french press after looking at the favorable reviews...hmmm...what happened between what I received and what they received. It does keep the coffee warmer longer, BUT that is where it stops. For some reason, the shape of the pot and the screen do not mesh, so there are tons of grounds in the coffee you are trying to drink. It leakes between the black top collar and the silver part, so not only do you get coffee in your cup but everywhere else. The cover is very thin and cheesy feeling. For my money, I should have bought the neoprene jacket that bodum sells as their french press is a far superior product.

My husband purchased me this french press as a gift for a replacement to a ceramic model I had been using with deplorable insulation properties and it was smaller in size also. Although I like this press, after only using it for about a year I am hunting for a replacment for it because of two complaints I have with it. Number one, although I have washed this sucker by hand every day the screen has begun to tear at stress points along the exterior ring causing more grinds to leak through than usual. Second, the replacement screens are ALWAYS on backorder I am assuming because everyone has the same problem with the screens tearing. Granted, the unit is less pricey than some and it does do a good job brewing the coffee otherwise. But, I am going to be trying a new model this time around.

Love this french press. We use it for camping so we don't have to worry about it breaking and it keeps the coffee warm, but of course it would be great for using anywhere. We have other french presses, but this is the best one.
