I bought the Dyson some years ago after a good friend of mine raved about hers. I went through vacuums like hairdryers and own 5 inside dogs and 3 longhair inside cats. I never had a vacuum with the necessary suction and power to get the hairs off of my carpet and furniture. I was so embarrassed when my white persians left a layer of hair and a visitor in a blacksuit visited pre-dyson and was covered. No worries now. I can wear black again and this maching works. It is a bit on the heavyside and with chronic back problems this can be an issue. It can be somewhat of a chinese finger puzzle to figure out how to remove the hose from the wand so you can put on attachments without the interference of the wand.
Otherwise, it works like a workhorse and is amazing in how much dust, dander and hair it removes. I am amazed how much dust, dander and hair I produce in 1 week and the dyson has a large collection bin that I still have to change twice to three times after it fills!! I owe my british buddy who told me about the dyson a real high five for encouraging me to buy my dyson. I won't be without one. A must for pet lovers who have them indoors.

My family recently acquired a dog and his hair was everywhere. Vacuuming was pointless. We tried sweeping the carpets which helped some but still left me with a feeling that the house was not clean. Buying a Dyson was an expensive leap, but it was well worth every cent. I have no complaints. It sucks up the hair with no problem and leaves the carpets looking like they've been steam cleaned. I'm very satisfied.

After purchasing the Dyson DC14 All-Floors Cyclone Upright Vacuum Cleaner, my life has changed. The amazing suction of this vaccum can suck up anything!! I use it for food, garbage, all sorts of things and it never fails me!! I could also definately say that this vaccum has saved my life. One day I came across my dog about to chew up my favorite piece of jewelry that my great-grandmother passed down to me and then I knew just what to do. I ran to get my Dyson. After rolling my Dyson out to the yard where my dog was, I plugged it into the outlet on the house, thanks to the extra long cord, I then sucked the necklace right out of my pooch's mouth. Thank god for my Dyson!! I don't know where I'd be today without my vacuum's amazing suction and long cord!! If my great-grandmother were still alive today and knew what that necklace has been through, I don't even know what she'd do to me!! I suggest to everyone that reads this that they should buy one of these vacuums any time they get the chance. You never know what you'll have to save from being chewed up by your loveable dog.

I have been a cannister vacuum girl forever; Always bought the Sears Kenmore with all the attachments. I am just amazed at how much better this vacuum is. I like the bagless feature. I like to see all the dog hair and dust etc. that I am cleaning up. I empty it after each room so I can disgust myself with how much dog hair I never know is there is sucked up into that thing! I am sure the novelty of this will wear off after I have owned the vacuum for awhile. The only thing which would be nicer is if the head could fit under furniture like the cannister - but hey - can't have everything! I bought the attachment that does this - but haven't used it yet. I suppose I should write another review after I use the wand and the other floor attachment. Yes, it is loud, but aren't all vacuums?

This vacuum cleaner is worth the money. It works like it is supossed to. I had this vacuum cleaner for 6 months now and I have had no problems. It still works like new. I have had to replace so many vacuums after 1 year cause they are cheap pieces of junk that cost $130. I dont believe that I should have to change this vacuum for a long time. I watch the dirt come to the vacuum like a magnet. I love the long hose. Great for high areas. The hose works great on chairs. Gets everything up. I watch all the pet hair that goes into this vacuum. We have 4 cats and 2 dogs and it never gets clogged. I read reviews about this vacuum not picking up cheerios. There must be something wrong with theirs cause mine picked up 10 cheerios and I am confident that it will continue to pick up more if I need to. Works great on hardwood floors too. I gave this vacum a 4 star rating because This vacuum does poorly on non thick carpet. If used on thin carpet it begins to make a loud rattling noise from the beater brush area. The brush is rubbing against the plastic housing. I believe this part will break as I have read other reviews and they have all said the same thing. Theirs broke. Mine didnt break cause I have read reviews and I know to be careful so it doesnt happen to me. So for this I believe that this vacuum should cost a little less.
