Powerful vacuum and easy to use. I bought this vac for my boat and with the detachable brush piece I am able to reach all the corners and hard to reach places. The hose also comes off and becomes a powerful duster. I like this vacuum and definitely would recommend it to everyone.

This is the worst dirt devil product I have owned. Their descriptions lead me to believe that it would work fantastic. It has little to no suction especially when the filter has the least amount of dirt. The brush does not work. This is the feature I was counting on to pick up cat fur. The power reach with the brush attachment is very awkward to use. The only redeeming feature is when the crevice tool is attached without the brush attachment. I would not recommend this product to anyone.

A vacuum cleaner needs two things .. suction and firm brushing. The suction isn't great but workable, however the brushing is horrible. The air driven brush hardly has enough power to spin itself, and when touched to anything at all, the brush stops. Can't believe Dirt Devil actually sells this product. I will never buy another one of their products again -- they make terrible decisions about what works and what does not. This does not.

I share the same frustrations as everyone else. For Christmas, I asked my dear MIL for "A Dirt Devil" thinking of the classic, plad-bagged, rip-the-skin-off-the-back-of-your-hand-if-you-got-it-in-there vacuum that my mom has. I have Berber carpeting on my split-entry home's steps and it was an awful choice to begin with for stairs that act as an "entry rug" for the home (even though there is one), but this vacuum's excuse for a "power" beater bar is terrible. It won't even vacuum the easiest stuff off the steps. It is certainly not helped by the tight-looped varied level carpeting - it can't get any good suction on it, or comb the fibers. If i wanted a junky dust-buster, I would have asked for one. This "vacuum" has tainted my opinion of the hand-held "dirt devil" vaccuums being the best as far as little vacuums go.

I'm writing this review partly to counter the number of inappropriate remarks made towards the bags. The problem seems to be about a shipping goof made by Amazon rather than the bags performance. The comments all seem rather misdirected.



At any rate, these are OEM replacements that are meant for my Hoover upright and they fit properly and perform as well as I believe they should. It is also a bonus that I bought these from Amazon's "Warehouse Outlet" store. The cardboard box the bags come in was slightly crumpled so I got a considerable discount. Nice!

When I received this filter, I put it in my machine and it fit perfectly. This is 100x less expensive than Wal-mart and the original Hoover filter. I bought this vacuum cleaner mainly for my stairs and hardwood floors in my home. It's really lightweight and does a fantastic job. I have two cats and you can imagine the cat hair collecting everywhere. With the broom half of it would just fly around the room. The vacuum is straight suction only which is perfect for hardwood. It has more than enough suction. As a matter of fact, the woman who cleans my house had me order one for her house. She especially loved how she could sweep under the cupboard ledges in the kitchen and bathroom, something her Shark couldn't do. The hose is also quite long. I am able to go halfway up the stairs without moving the vacuum. The only carpet this vacuum sees is what is on my staircase, so I will not comment on it's ability to vacuum carpets. But it picks up cat hair like no tomorrow. I also use pine pellets for my cat litter. The big draw back is they break down into sawdust. This vacuum picks them up easily.



The only real negative I've seen with this is the bag looks small. But, I've had it two months and haven't had to change the bag yet. Then again, I live alone and do not track much into the house.
