I bought this vacuum because I was sick of canister vacuums. In my experience they are clunky, messy and clog easily. I wanted something very simple, lightweight, and easy to store. I think this is as close as I could ask for.
It took about 15 minutes or less to build. It is very light and glides very easily. I don 't think the motor is super super strong, but it definitely gets the job done. The suction was enough to get pet fur off the carpets, but not so strong that it sucked up my kitchen rug's edges when I went over it (which is really great because that can be so irritating to have to pull out). Like most vacuums its not going to suck up your spare change and rubber-bands on the floor.
Please note it does not come with attachments, but there is an attachment kit that you can order if you care to.
An unexpected plus is that it is surprisingly quiet for a vacuum. I think I could've been able to watch tv and vacuum without turning it up. My cats didn't even seem phased.
I can't forget to mention that I love that the design has not changed for what seems like decades. It looks like it came straight out of the 50's. Why change a good thing?

LOVE this "retro" vacuum - it is a basic vacuum - no frills. It has heavy suction on the carpet, and with the dust filtering bags that I purchased, there is NO escape of allergens, dust, etc. The bags are HUGE and last for a long time. It is very light-weight. I had only recently bought a new bagless vacuum, and was appalled at the dust in my house each time I vacuumed. I would highly recommend the Electrolux (Eureka) 1934A bagged vacuum!

You could pay 600+ for a Dyson and get the same cleaning results, or waste money on a cheap bagless that doesn't do the job. This vacuum is lightweight, a breeze to use, and sucks up everything in its path. You have to breakdown and buy bags about once a year, and it doesn't come with attachments, though you can get attachments cheaply and easily enough.

I bought this vacuum thinking it was a true Electrolux, but got Eureka instead (should have looked at the stock photo a little closer). In a nutshell: poor handling, hard to move around on higher pile carpeting, feels as though the cheaply made plastic handle will break off while operating and the cord is painfully short. The pro? Good suction.

It is great. Simple, light weight, great price and uses a bag! Bagless vacuums are messy, pricey and just another way convince us we need something expensive and trendy. I have used many over the years and this one is exactly what I was looking for and unable to find.
