Tired of Roomba getting wedged under chairs and bed frames, or getting tangled in the Christmas tree skirt? Robot Add-Ons KeepOut Strips allow you to safeguard the places where you do not want Roomba to go. Specially designed soft black infrared absorbing strips can be arranged in straight or curved patterns to keep Roomba away from difficult areas while it cleans the rest of the room. Our battery free strips use Roomba's cliff detectors to fool Roomba into thinking it sees a step, causing it to backup and turn away. Each KeepOut Strips kit contains four 18" long strips you can align together or use separately. Works with all Roomba and Scooba products!

 "Good for permanent placement" 2010-08-05
By E. Rosoff (Los Angeles, CA United States)
This is a good product, but not quite what I was expecting. I thought these would be rubberized so they would easily grip the floor, but in fact you have to use the (provided) adhesive tape. This means these are only good for one time permanent placement, whereas I was hoping to be able to move them around as necessary.

They do work quite well, though, at keeping the Roomba away from places I don't want it to go.

"Works well with Roomba 560" 2009-10-24
By Adam Helberg (Tustin, CA United States)
They work well with my Roomba 560. I don't even bother to glue them down. I store them with my virtual walls and just place them in front of something delicate I don't want the Roomba to run into (such as my PC). They are a nice complement to the virtual walls.

"Does not work well with Dirt Dog" 2009-10-19
By M. Barrett (Portland, OR USA)
The Dirt Dog's front wheel simply pushes the strips out of the way. The adhesive backing is not strong enough to keep the strips attached to the floor.

In my attempts the Dirt Dog either rolled right over the strips, or pushed them several inches before turning around. Several inches is too large a margin of error for these to be useful.

Shorter Version: Don't bother if you have a Dirt Dog, may work with a conventional Roomba.
