My Dirtdevil, which we recently replaced with a different vacuum, burned through it's original belt so I bought these. With a little work and by unscrewing the underside of the vacuum, they go on with only a little hassle. Problem is, my vacuum burned through them quickly. Most likely this was caused by my girlfriend's long hair. I wouldn't recommend the Dirt Devil Swivel Glide if there's someone with long hair living with you. I had to replace the whole beater-bar assembly once and the next time it broke we just got a new vacuum.

It took FOREVER to get this vendor to realize that they had never told me how they were shipping and when I provided them with a PO BOX, they could not ship as they shipped UPS. When I received a call from them, they told me the belts kept coming back as undeliverable to a PO BOX. I gave them a street address and the belts were delivered OK. I fault them for not replying to MANY emails about the shipping. They just don't get it - everyone knows UPS will not ship to a PO BOX - they never told me how they were shipping and never posted on their website how they shipped. For such a small item, I thought USPS would do. Apparently not.

If your ordering belts for a old vacuum, you need to know that the part # for the old hoover belts have been changed from 38528040 to 40201190. These belts are the 38528040. 40201190 is just the new part number. They are the same belts. Hope that helps. I had to do a lot of research to figure that out. Changed my belts and my vacuum was as good as new!
