 "Great Choice" 2010-08-04
By grammie
This is a replacement for a 34 inch Kaloric that I ordered a month ago. The Kaloric's opening was so small (only about 6 inches in the front and 2 inches in the back when fully opened) that I burned my hands several times and I am very experienced at using a presser.

I have used a steamer for several years until it died recently. I highly recommend them and use mine everyday. This model is great. The pressing area is a little larger than my old model at 25x10 and is really the perfect size for ironing shirts and pants. Although the 34 inch was good for the inseam, it was really too large for almost everything else. Once you have a system down, you can press everything very quickly. I pressed a fitted queen size sheet in about four minutes and the top sheet just as quickly. The trick is to fold it carefully and press them in sections. Another nice thing is that this model presses several layers at one time so you can put a knit tee shirt on the unit and get the back and frontin one press.

I have only had it about a week - so I don't know how long it will last - but it seems to be of good quality. My old presser last almost 3 years - I hope this one does as well.

The shipping was very quick - it arrived in about 3 days and Amazon was great about taking back the 34 inch Kaloric without hesitation. I am very pleased.

A very nice product. I am having trouble with the locking mechanism which keeps it closed for storage. Otherwise I am very pleased.

 "savin' time and money!" 2010-04-20
By R. Chanady (Newnan, GA)
LOVE IT!

once I figured out how to exactly place garments on board and an effective sequence for ironing, then exactly what the included pad was for i can now iron as if I were getting paid by the piece. This is a wonderful tool for the home for someone who has a lot of ironing to do but doesn't have a lot of time. Simple as heat press and go. I have saved enough money pressing my own clothes over past couple of months to almost pay for the press.

Professional look without the inconvenience of business hours or Closed Sundays..Get my laundry done on my time.

Convenience, savings, professional press....can't beat it.

"Pretty cool product. We us it every week 4 kids and lots of laundry. Biggest surface you can get the better." 2010-03-27
By John G
There is a technique to using it. For example knit shirts get bunched up in in hudge away from you then pull out bit by bit to press. The steam is for just one second. Also if really want positive results add starch to the rinse cycle of your wash(in the softner despenser)Setup a good spot to work. Good instructions included, but your developed technique and common sense will be what make the product most useful.

"You'll love it at first, then ........." 2010-03-22
By Carolyn (Indianapolis, Indiana)
I have had this machine for less than a year. It was great at first but then it got harder to press the 'buttons' that control the degree of heat. Now it doesn't work at all. I know that power is getting to the machine but it doesn't heat up because I cannot get the buttons to work. In order to get it fixed, I have to package it and pay the shipping charges to send it back to the company. Given the weight of the machine, this won't be cheap and, after reading one of the comments from someone else who did sent theirs back for repair only to have it break again, I could incur a lot of cost just in shipping and still have a piece of junk. Maybe a machine manufactured in China is not meant to last longer than a few months.

If your machine is still working, count yourself lucky. If you haven't bought one yet, look somewhere else.

 "Too Big!" 2009-09-03
By pao09 (Falls Church, VA)
This steamer is too big for travel, it is not so "compact" as they say. I did not even try to see how it worked, and returned it when I saw how big it was. If I were to take this with me in a carry-on bag it will take like 1/3 of the space.

 "bad product" 2009-06-23
By Tony (KC, MO)
It just spews water in the vapor all the time, it just gets collected in the nozzle holes and drips down on your fabric, even if you put very little water in it. Also leaves stain no matter what type of water you use, distilled, drinking, ect. And it does in no way compare to and iron, there is not crispness to it. Just a product that has not been fully designed to work properly. I would not recommend it to anyone or ever buy one of these again.

 "Good little steamer" 2009-06-22
By K. Kenda (Tampa)
I had read pretty much all the reviews of several steamers before purchasing this one. I was tempted to buy the Jiffy but couldn't justify the $44 price tag as I'm not a frequent traveller and was only looking for a steamer to help me get through my pile of ironing quicker. I agree with other reviews - do not overfill the tank. I found that it still spit a small bit, but the fabric I was steaming was not delicate and the spots dried without a trace. It worked great on light cotton, denim and knits. Struggled a bit on the heavier cotton/twill pants but still got most of the wrinkles out. After I got the hang of it I found that I averaged 3 - 4 cotton shirts in one tankful of water. The instructions recommend using distilled water. Overall, I'm pleased. As another reviewer commented, nothing beats the crispness of an iron, but if you're not looking for crisp and just want to look neat and unwrinkled this is a great product.

"Great steamer for the price" 2009-03-31
By Jay Shelton (Texas United States)
We purchased the SteamFast steamer for work to steam out heavey creases on fabric tradeshow banners. Voila! It works great with a little time and effort. Make sure that you don't fill the reservoir completely to the MAX fill line, as you need to give it a little "boiling" room. Highly recommended.

"SteamFast is an Excellent Compact Steamer" 2008-07-29
By V Plum (Los Angeles, CA United States)
Hello - I am in no way related to the SteamFast company. I have owned two other travel/compact steamers:

Jiffy, which makes a very good steamer as well, however, it is more than twice the money and, although I had their compact steamer for at least six years, I didn't use it very much (as I had their industrial steamer) and recently the heater unit on it broke. So I'm not sure that their quality is so good unless I got a lemon. Additionally, the Jiffy model is slightly larger than the SteamFast model.

The other model I used was a Franzus and the only thing better about this one was it's size. As a steamer it doesn't perform well at all.

The SteamFast Compact Fabric Steamer SF-435W does a very good job (just as good as Jiffy, if not better) at steaming out wrinkles - it has more steaming holes than Jiffy - (though if you want a super crisp look nothing replaces an iron), it's price is great for the quality, and it's a bit smaller than the Jiffy. I'd like to see them make this unit at least a couple of inches smaller but it's still a great unit. In my opinion, this unit can be used at home (especially since home units are much more expensive and take up a lot of room) or for traveling. A very good product. I highly recommend it. (I also recommend using distilled or purified water in clothes steamers whenever possible as it will extend the life of the unit.)

"So much easier than ironing!" 2009-12-29
By Xbox LuvR (Oregon, USA)
Fill it with water, turn it on, wait a few minutes and PRESTO! It's SOOOO much easier than ironing, and there is no danger of scorching your clothes. This machine does not replace your iron, as some clothes may still need ironing. But for me I can wash my dressier "going out shirts" and steam them in a matter of minutes, then hang 'em up in the closet, they are ready to go!

This saves you so much time and effort, everyone should have one of these.

Pros: Fast, easy, steams for 45 minutes on one tank of water (though I don't have enough clothes requiring ironing to use it that long. This machine is well made. It's the first of it's kind that I've owned, so I can't compare this to other models.

Cons: Not the most visually appealing device, though it will most likely be stored and used in your laundry room, so not a big issue. The obvious: The steam is HOT, be careful with the steam end.

Works as advertised, heats up fast. I wouldn't say it would replace my iron, but it certainly works well for quickly removing wrinkles before wearing.

 "Pretty Disapointing!!" 2009-12-28
By K. Blanch
This steamer isn't powerful enough to make much of a difference, on 100% cotton shirts, you have to spend as much time on them as if you were ironing, and I don't think the steamer makes them look as nice as an ironed shirt. I will say that it works pretty nice for sweaters, so you might consider it if you own a bunch of those. Otherwise, skip this product.

"Great little machine for a reasonable price" 2009-12-26
By R. Williams (KEARNEY, NE, US)
I have another commercial type steamer that I purchased for $350.00. It has a larger tank and works fine, however, for the money this works just as well and does a great job. It won't give a good you a good drycleaners press no matter how you use it, but that's not what it is designed for. It does a good job at smoothing out light wrinkles, and freshening up garments, drapes, tablecloths and such. Will not replace your drycleaner.

"Spits Water and Takes Out Smells Not Wrinkles" 2009-12-22
By S. Isbell (Indiana)
After reading the great reviews, I purchased this clothing steamer to remove unwanted wrinkles in my fiances dress shirts. This steamer was very loud and it spit water down the front of the shirts as it would steam them. I was hoping there was a kink in the beginning and it would get better, but it did not. I followed the manufacturers instructions and used distilled water but it still didnt help. The water being spit on his shirts created more wrinkles than what they org. had. We did use it on his wool peacoat which worked great to get the smells and a few light surface stains off of it. But, if you are looking for something to get your cotton shirts, dress shirts and other clothing items steamed I would not recommend it. Mabey mine was defective but Im going to try ordering the Jiffy 2000 and see if it does the trick. On consumer reviews website it is rated one of the best steamers in terms of its performance.
