"What are these bags made out of...???" 2010-09-30
By Trio
I want to buy the bags and the vacuum but I won't until I find out what the bags are made from. We don't want anything with PVC or BPA.

Anyone know? I couldn't find it on the company's website either.....

 "Saves me money" 2010-09-23
By Bob Sisson (Gaithersburg MD)
I shop at Costco....so I NEED a vacuum packer... buying the small boxes of bags no sense. I buy these big boxes of bags as they are a bit cheaper. I tried some of the other brand bags, most don't have the ridges which helps flow air out...one went so far as to tell me to put a melt-able STRAW in the path...Uh..NO.

The quart size work for most cuts of meat. I also use the Gallon size for Rib sections and larger Roasts.

These work GREAT in the Sous Vide !

"Foodsaver bags are the best" 2010-09-03
By Deadwood (Alabama, USA)
These bags are, and always have been a little pricey, but they sure do work. I cook on weekends and then freeze lunches for the next couple of months. Using foodsaver, there is no freezer burn and the food holds up really well. For liquid food, for example chili, I freeze it overnight in a plastic container, then the next day pop it out of that container and vacuum it into one of the quart bags. Have enough great chili for weeks of lunches.

I have been ordering these bags for a long time. Well made; good value. Outstanding service from vendor.

 "Love these !!!" 2010-02-28
By Cactus Cooker (Sun City West, az United States)
Love these, Love my food saver. Nice to have the bags made up for time , also, I reuse them several times before I get rid of them, I wash them in hot soapy water or take some of them item out and reseal right away, they are great timesavers and I have had no issue with them at all.

 "FoodSaver Vacuum-sealing Bags" 2010-01-30
By S. Reid (OR)
These vacuum bags seal the first time and are reusable even after cleaning. A step up from the old Zip Lock vacuum seal system which has been discontinued. Never have had the problem with any bag I've tried to seal being stuck together. The vacuum seal system is great way to stop feeding your garbage can.

 "GARBAGE" 2009-12-15
By Thomas J. Huber (Columbia, TN United States)
They may work, but I got a batch, with quality control from you know where, that were fused at the opening and when you tried to open them the zipper mechanism came unstuck from the bag. That equates a dead bag and the whole box, less one that must have escape the watchful eye of quality control, was useless. WILL NEVER BUY AGAIN!

 "Fresh bagels" 2009-12-07
By Robert M. Gassner (Declo, Idaho)
These bags work great with bagels. Used to be that they got too hard to eat in a day or two. Have even put a half bagel back in the bag and sealed and kept it just as soft as the day I brought it home.

 "Foodsaver bags" 2009-12-08
By Emile C. Charlier (Saint Cloud, FL USA)
The product performs as described and keeps food frozen satisfactorily. However, I note no advantage over the similar product which i purchased in the discount store. My suggestion, then, is to compare prices before making a purchase.

 "Better than I expected" 2009-11-28
By Sam Falkner (Colorado, USA)
I accidentally ordered these, thinking that I was ordering the bags that the foodsaver melts closed. I was initially disappointed, until I tried them. They work really well, and are perfect for things like a week's worth of lunch meat, where you're re-sealing frequently. I also like them for slightly moist food, since the moisture won't climb up the canister hose.

I use them until the contents are gone, then throw them away, rather than trying to wash and re-use. So far, they have been flawless.

 "Versatile" 2009-10-31
By M. Lafferman (Chico, CA, USA)
I purchased a set of these quart bags when I purchased my Freshsaver. I have used mine for cheese, and also for cereal.

You can wash these by hand, or even in your dishwasher I read in the accompanying info. I just wash mine by hand. They don't suggest reusing them for raw meat or poultry or anything that is greasy which makes sense to me. Otherwise, once washed you can reuse them.

You just seal them like a Ziploc bag, then apply the Freshsaver System to the upper right hand side, where there is this green rimmed circle. Directions are on the bags. Very easy! The bags seem very sturdy. Alittle pricey you may think, but reusing them will help to defray the cost.
