I waited for a few months after purchasing this iron to see how my opinion changed over time. I initially was concerned that the spiffy "lift" -- which I first saw in use on a quilting TV show -- was a gimmick that would wear off. I'm glad to say that it isn't; it's a truly useful feature that has eased my life.



Anyone who quilts spends a lot of time ironing, just as anyone who does woodworking has to be ready to do a lot of sanding. You really can't scrimp on this without regretting it later. But ironing 104 block pieces can get tedious. You iron a piece or two, move it to the Done pile, and set the iron down while you grab the next batch. You do this for at least 20 minutes. It gets old. Fast. As a result, I _really_ like that I can set the iron down and it'll "lift up" to prevent problems... saving me from that repeated lift/twist/balance exercise.



Of course, a single nifty feature does not justify the top-end price of any iron. It's just the most visible example of the quality of this iron. I've found that it has enough weight to do a serious job of ironing, but it isn't so heavy that I'm exhausted. Loading water into it is easier than it was with the old Rowenta which it replaced. (No real criticism of the Rowenta; I wore out that poor thing.) If you do quilting or other serious sewing, DO invest in a good iron. You'll feel the difference even if you can't articulate it.



As other reviewers have noted, it _can_ be a little drooly with the steam setting on. I've found that it helps to set the iron back on its heel, every so often; don't rely on the auto-lift all the time. The only other irritation is that because of the button in the middle of the iron, it no longer fits in my wall-mounted iron storage compartment (above the folded-up ironing board) and has to be kept on a shelf.



But I'm okay with that. Because I've found that ironing is much less of a hassle than it was previously. And isn't that the best you can hope for with ironing?

I too bought this 'so-called' wonderful iron only to have it stop working after two weeks of use.

I have been unable to get up with customer support, sent several emails, and called with no response.

My husband is an electrical engineer and has tried to repair the iron, only to find out that the part numbers have been 'conveniently' scratched off...no way to get replacement parts and fix it himself. It is probably a 25 cent item that went out but can't find any schematics on this piece of crap. I guess it's time to contact the BBB.



I bought a Rowenta that can iron circles around this hunk of junk.

I love this iron! It's practically got a mind of its own. All I really need to do is touch the iron and it will go down and glide through the fabric. The iron itself is heavy enough to smooth out the wrinkles, but light enough that it won't burn the shirts. The one-touch technology is really amazing. I never need to strain my wrists, trying to lift the iron up because it stays flat the entire time. The steam is great, too. One press of the steam button and the wrinkles are all gone.



I'm the kind of person who sticks to one product once I like it. For the past ten years, I have been using Black & Decker irons. Finally, someone gave me an Oliso Auto-Lift iron and I have officially been converted! Not only is the technology amazing, but it truly makes ironing an easier and faster process.

I have been using these bags for awhile now and they are great. Yes they do seem to cost more than you average ziplock bag but you get so many more uses out of these and they are better for the environment. Each bag can be used at least 8 times, I have found that you have room to seal the bags in between the designated circles. Also you will save a ton by avoiding freezer burnt food. With only having a two person house hold this has been very helpful. We are able to get all the great frozen food and it doesn't get thrown out anymore!



The bags are very easy to clean but take awhile to dry out. That is my only complaint.

Found the Oliso at the Southern Living Christmas Show and knew my spouse would love it. So, got it as a Christmas gift. It was a hit and has been used numerous times. The bags are strong and can be used and washed 40 times or more. These have been a pleasant surprise. The system is easy to use and the bags, while expensive, are re-usable so much that it makes them very cost effective.

The first two dozen times I used this device, I was happy with how the first-use bags sealed, though I found that previously sealed holes' seals wouldn't hold up if I tried to reuse the bag by sealing it at a different circle, more often than not. Five months into owning this product, I now find that I'm getting a good seal on first use bags only one out of two or three tries, and I'm quite frustrated. I cannot recommend it.

We purchased the Frisper from a local home show, and although the salesman indicated it could be used with other bags I have not found one that works sucessfully. However, the unit is compact and does not take up the counter space of the Food Saver unit that we also own. It works a treat! I prefare the pantry bags because they ere easyier to use repeatedly. A bonus plus, is that the vacuum jars purchsed with the Food Saver also work with the Frisper. Fresh fruit is lasting a good deal longer in the refrigerator, and waste has been reduced considerably. A good product!!

I was given this as a gift from my sister along with 2 boxes of bags. I was thrilled by the prospects for this device as I like its small size and the idea of re-usable bags.



Unfortunately, like many others, I found that this thing simply doesn't work as advertised. I made many tests with many types of contents including sliced deli meats and cheese and using multiple bags. Out of many tries, I only achieved complete and lasting seals twice - and one was sealing a spoon at the direction of their tech support over the phone. The vast majority of the time, you could observe that the circular heat seal was not complete and the bags leaked immediately.



In all cases, no matter how good the seal seemed to be at first, it was ultimately lost later-on while the bag was in the freezer. Perhaps it is too much to expect that a bag that can be opened/closed so easily could ever really be airtight enough to hold a vacuum. But the machine's inability to consistently create a good heat seal around the puncture through which it creates the vacuum renders this latter issue academic.



As the instructions indicate, you can try to re-seal these incomplete seals. But on almost all occasions, this would not work no matter how many times I tried. Perhaps the heating element is not hot enough or on long enough. I cannot configure this so it is impossible to tell. But I know that the bags were clean, dry, and all punctures - save the one being re-sealed - had been secured using scotch tape. You see, the bag must achieve a vacuum for the heating element to be engaged at all.



What a shame! I wish I could return it. I would use the money to purchase a "real" vacuum sealer despite their size and the non-reusable bags. But this unit sat with my sister for many months before it got to me and it is outside the Amazon return period. The vendor will accept the return for review and possible replacement. But from all the bad reviews here and elsewhere, I am not inclined to bother. Seems like it would just be throwing good money after bad for the shipping and just more frustration when the unit comes back and still doesn't work. Note sure what to do with the thing now.

I bought this sealer because I liked the concept of reusable bags. It worked the first two times, then stopped sealing the bag. I was so disappointed! I returned the item and was charged a 30% restocking fee. So buyer beware - you might get my broken one. If you really want a good sealer with reusable bags, try the MealSaver. It works great, and the Ziploc bags, which are much less expensive, work with it.

I use both the Oliso bags & my FoodSaver,for different purposes.



The Oliso bags are easy to use, & I like the re-openable feature. I use them to keep butter fresh & also my husband's cold cuts.



I've never had a problem with seal failure, after using up an entire set of the bags that came with the Oliso. So that's about 40 uses?



I highly recommend the Oliso product. It's compact and the bags work. It has saved me money on cold cuts, butter & cheese, which I take out when I want some, then reseal.

I've had the Frisper for a few months now. I've had success with sealing the bags the first time for most things. However once you are up to 5 or more times, the old seals start failing and the bag becomes useless. Sometimes you have do the seal over multiple times because it didn't seal the complete circle properly. Oh, and it's not dishwasher safe. I tried cleaning the bags in the dishwasher and after that I could never get the bags to seal again.

The Oliso Resealable Replacement Bags are great! I own a Frisper and I love it. And I love these bags almost just as much. Unlike the other brands, we can use these bags at LEAST 10 times. They have circles that let you know where to punch the holes in, but I usually punch holes in between the marked ones, which allow me to use each bag 15-18 times. I'm a bit of a germaphobe, so I always wash the bags after I use them. They can even withstand being put in the dishwasher. After two weeks of washing, the bags are still strong and sturdy, with no holes or leaks. I would recommend punching the holes starting from the bottom, and going up. It saves more space and makes the process easier.
