I loved my steam cleaner when I got it, but I ended up returning it for a new one three weeks later since the adjustable height handle broke and made it impossible to clean with. Amazon was very fast to send me a new one, and I've haven't had a problem with this one. I love it. It is light weight and very easy to use and my floor is dry about 30 seconds after I've gone over it. I hand-wash the cleaning pads since machine washing cuts down on their life span, but that doesn't take very long either. I highly recommend this product to anyone who wants a quick way to get their floors clean.

Bought a HAAN FS20 (16 December 2009) and it came with two pads, sanitizing tray, etc., adding a few more items that I have NOT seen offered as standard equipment from many Haan sellors(?). Made the purchase mainly because I had read consistently decent reviews and after considerable research, found that NONE of the other brands specifically state/illustrate on their outside packaging or in their general info that a steamer CAN be used on laminate flooring. Haan does, on their outside packaging. However, after re-checking my laminate floor warranty, I learned that it will be voided if I use ANY steam cleaning device so.... Watup Haan? Darn! Anyhow, I bought the unit, used it, and liked it, found that indeed it worked very well on hard surfaces, tile, bathroom, kitchen tile, and overall, I was pleased with the effortlessness, the quality, and the ease of set-up and put-away. I was not able to buy additional pads directly from Haan but had no problem finding any number of sources for Haan back-up supplies from Amazon Marketplace vendors. Cord length was adequate for me. Height adjustable handle feature smart engineering. Water tank capacity more than acceptable. Haan web site comforting. Sort of. If the price is right (below $90) snap this up and steam away. After all , it is a dirty world out there. And the old way of the mop is... the old way!

I am so thrilled with this. I have laminate floors that are impossible to clean. I have 4 Great danes and I breed as well so I have babies that have accidents. Well this product can get up old puppy messes. I am amazed it takes forever with a mop but a few swipes with this and it is done. I also live in the country so muddy feet are anissue. This machine is so light and it heats up in no time, I can just whip it out and clean up the paw prints much faster than getting out the mop. The only problem with it is it is silent so you aren't sure it is on and it is difficult to tell when it is out of water, but this is minor. I would reccommend one for anyone. If this Haan can get my floors clean it can do anyones. I do not have carpet, but I gave one to my daughter who does (she hasn't had a chance to try hers yet)and we will see how well it does there.

Although there are a lot of choices out there for steam cleaners, if you are primarily looking to clean your floors this is a great cleaner. I was using Hoover FloorMate SpinScrub, which costs more than this and is much more of a chore to use. This one works faster because there is less set up, you don't have to wait for your faucet to get to hot, there are no chemicals to add, and the steam cleans faster than the spinning brushes, hot water, and chemicals in the Hoover FloorMate.
This works especially well in my kitchen where my kids like to drop food on the floor and not tell me about it. I have tile floor and I used to hate getting the spray cleaner out, a butter knife, paper towels, etc and try to remove their sticky messes. Now it just steams off and makes my life easier.

I thought buying this would replace regular mopping with cleaner, but this does not work on linoleum flooring. I could see it working on normal tiles or wood floors (I'm not sure if you can use it on wood floors) that have minimal dirt, but I think my expectations were way too high for this Haan Steamer after reading previous reviews.
Won't be returning it though, as shipping will cost too much. Do appreciate the environmentally friendly aspect of just using plain old water though. Have yet to try on rugs, and sort of skeptical that it will do much for those.
