we've only used it a few times, does great job with normal batches but works hard and shut down a couple times with extra large bread batches....we're having fun playing with it!!

My Kitchen Aid Artisan stand mixer finally wore out after 10 years of use. My inclination was to replace it with a bigger capacity Kitchen Aid, but after doing considerable research into the various mixers available on the market, I eventually settled on the Cuisinart 7 quart SM-70BC. I chose the Cuisinart because: It has a 1000 Watt motor; a two (not one) handled, extra deep mixing bowl which locks into position in such a way that it doesn't overtighten; 12 variable speeds; an automatic timing feature; and non-stick coated paddle and dough hooks for ease of cleaning. It has worked beautifully, even making extremely stiff pasta doughs with ease, and it doesn't dance around the counter like my Kitchen Aid mixer did. My only slight reservation is the splash shield; it is a little tricky to snap into place, but not a big issue. It's all the mixer a home cook could ever need.

For the person who wanted the rebate certificate for the food processor attachment you can go to the cuisinart website and download the form to receive your attachment. You just have to send in your upc code from bottom of mixer box and your original receipt with the form. Offer is good thru June, 2010.......
I ordered this from Amazon and it was delivered very promptly. I absolutely love this mixer. It replaces an old kitchen aid stand mixer. I have used the new kitchen aid mixers and now that I have used the Cusinart I am so happy to have chosen it over the kitchen aid. I love the lever that allows the top to flip up and lock in place. I made a very dense bread recipe and was ready for some of the complaints found in other reviews but didn't have a problem with the dough going up to the top of the dough hook as in one review and didn't find the noise any louder than any other stand mixer I have used in the past. The design of this mixer is great. It indeed does fit under kitchen cabinets but I decided to leave it on my island since it looks so great and is easier to access. It comes with a great DVD to get you familiar with your new mixer and all it has to offer as well as creating some of the recipes that are found in the booklet that comes with the mixer. I am so happy with my choice. Love It!

I replaced my old Sunbeam mixer with the 7qt cuisinart model.
I bought the 7qt cuisinart mixer before Christmas and it is now Feb.
The finish is easy to clean, and quiet when running. I have given it
a good test the last few months, and pleased to say I am very happy
I bought this mixer. When making egg whites I did have to adjust the
whip beater nut to lower it for better mixing. The splash guard is handy
but at times hard to snap into place.
I do wish it came with another smaller bowl for small batches. If there
is one I would buy it now.

The mixer was quieter and lighter than expected. Very pleased with the look and performance. It slides nicely under the overhead cabinets, as well. I bought it from amazon.com and did not realize that 5 or 6 other vendors also offer it on the amazon website at different prices, shipping and bonus offers. VERY confusing. At the bottom of the description it said it came with a mini food processing attachment, a $110 value. I took that into consideration when deciding to buy from a local kitchen store or amazon.com. After I ordered and received the mixer I was still expecting to hear something about the attachment but never did. I went back to find the page I ordered from only to have all these other pages and vendors pop up. I found the offer but the fine print stated it was only from select vendors.???? What vendors was not very clear and prices were all over the place. I had no idea amazon did this with new products. READ THE FINE PRINT and RESEARCH YOUR ORDER WELL!
