Keeping the standard of clean set on high, Hoover introduces the new windtunnel T-series family of bagless upright vacuums, combining sleek, lightweight design with superior cleaning power that is easy to use, at a practical price. This hi-tech bagless vacuum has ingenious options, such as a collapsible handle for small spaces, an automatic rewind cord for quick and easy wrap up when you are done cleaning, a height adjustment feature to ensure roll brushes are at the proper height and a headlight to illuminate dark corners. A cord clip is just below the handle on the back side of the unit and it keeps the cord out of the way while cleaning. Requiring minimal maintenance, this windtunnel T-series has a rinsable filter that can be easily cleaned under running water, a high quality hepa filter, and a carbon filter to help get rid of musty pet orders - none of these will need to be replaced with proper care. The windtunnel T-series vacuums feature Hoover's patented windtunnel technology with air passages that trap dirt and channel it into the dirt cup, significantly minimizing blowback or scattering back onto the floor. While each model is lightweight, they offer full Hoover power for a deep down clean and no loss of suction. (Per IEC60312 4th edition, clause 2.9. Test results within accepted variability tolerance of 5-percent). This model has the easy to clean pet attachments that feature rubber blades and rolling brushes that trap pet hair and keep from clogging the vacuum.

 "A Step Down" 2010-04-23
By RC
I purchased this as a replacement for a failing Hoover Windtunnel that was about ten years old. Since it was an emergency purchase, the price was very attractive and reasonable. Because of the durability of my previous model as well as Consumer Reports ratings I had to have another Hoover. I have mixed feelings about this model. First I'll say that what it can clean it cleans very well. It is lighter than my other vacuum and easy to use. Since I have all the parts from my old vacuum and they are compatible I am able to adapt and deal with the limitations of this model. However, if you don't have Hoover extras lying around or this is your first vacuum purchase, be aware of some things.

The power tool is ok, but inferior to the power hand tool on my previous model that has bristles. I am finding it takes more effort and time to achieve the same cleaning results with this power tool. It does eventually get the job done. As others have noted, the stretch hose is unmanageable with the vacuum turned on. Since only one extension wand is included I have to use the ones from my old vacuum to be able to clean without breaking my back. There is no dusting tool, dirt sensor or edge cleaning on this model. Considering this is supposed to be their latest product I find this disappointing. You would think their latest offering would include at least one model with all the bells and whistles some of us have come to rely on. The pet hair tool is ok, but doesn't seem to work any better than the upholstery tool on my old vac. Love the cord rewind! It is fabulous.

Then there is the dust bin. Bagged or bagless? It's a hard choice to make. Each has it's benefits and disadvantages. I tried my best, but would often forget to change the bag on my previous model until it was overfilled. Even with bagged models there is some dust when changing the bags. That is why I said the heck with it and decided to try the bagless model. I do think the bagless vacuum is helping me clean better because I can see the dirt. I think the dirt cup has much less capacity than a bag, but having to empty it several times just to complete one house cleaning has made me realize I didn't empty the bag nearly enough before. I'm still perfecting the bin dump technique but do have some suggestions. If possible do the emptying outside. The dust plume is unavoidable. Use a bag or can that has a wide opening you don't have to hold to avoid spills. Wear disposable gloves because you will have to pull the dirt out by hand. That is especially true if you have pets. I am considering purchasing an extra dust bin and filter to make maintenance easier. Also be aware that the filter needs to be changed about every two years.

I would plan to purchase extra accessories not included with this model in order to achieve thorough cleaning unless you already have extras. The cleaning is excellent. The vacuum is good overall not great. I would like to see a full featured version in the future and would choose to buy it. For the money I think it is a very good buy. Make sure to read the instruction manual. Some of the problems other reviewers had are addressed in the manual. I followed all the instructions and did not have problems.

"A few notes on others' complaints." 2010-04-22
By Stephanie Bolton (Seattle, WA)
I purchased this vacuum one month ago and I would like to address some of the complaints that other reviewers have made. I feel like people are giving this vacuum a bad name because of their own inability to to treat appliances with care.

Cord Rewind System Broke - "When the little peg snaps off" Take one look at the rewind system. It functions with a plastic peg. What kind of pressure were you putting on a plastic peg to make it snap off? It's plastic! Take it easy!

Pet Tools Ineffective / What's with the rubber blades - Try using the tools as they are intended. They are not made to suction hair without any work. If you really have pets, you know that pet hair does not just sit lightly on top of furniture waiting to be vacuumed up. Over a day or two the pet hair seems to work itself in to the surface of the fabric. The rubber tool is AMAZING at dislodging the pet hair from fabric! Just a tiny bit of back and forth with this tool and the pet hair is dislodged, rolled up and sucked into the vacuum.

Mini roller - The mini roller, or what I refer to as the stair tool, also needs to be used in a back and forth motion in order to function properly and when it is used properly it is awesome on carpet or upholstered surfaces, especially stairs.

Hard surface capability - When the brush roller is off and the setting is on "bare floors" I haven't had a single problem with it picking up hair off of my maple and tile. It can be a little tricky if there are particles of pet food or litter on the floor but I usually sweep up larger particles before using the vacuum on the hard surfaces.

Brush roller disengage - If this function doesn't work properly on your machine, that is a defect and you need to return the vacuum. How can you rate a product poorly if you haven't even used one that is 100% functional? Mistakes happen, products get shipped out with defects. Return it and get a new one before leaving your negative review!

I do have some cons, the reviewers are right that this vacuum has a little more suction than it can handle. The relatively short hose seizes up when the vacuum is on making it almost impossible to reach a distance away from the vacuum. I can reach my eight foot ceiling corners with no problem but I can see how some people might be upset that they can't reach their higher ceilings.

I'm sick of people expecting products to do everything for them. This is a fabulous vacuum and Hoover has done an excellent job creating tools for pet owners. I have three cats and a dog and my new baby doesn't get any pet hair in her mouth since I switched to this vacuum.

"Quit working within a few days" 2010-03-22
By G. Pine
It worked beautifully for the first four days. After that it wouldn't turn on. We took it to a Hoover factory authorized repair store. They were unable to fix it - the part they needed wasn't available. They had to order a new vacuum which has not yet arrived. I'll think twice before ordering anything from Amazon in the future.

 "Hoover review" 2010-03-15
By Thomas H. Morgan (Calif. USA)
This vacuum is powerful and easy to use. The suction is great and is about the best I have ever felt. The cord rewind is a great feature which makes the rewind automatic. The dust collector is a little awkward but I can live with it. I would recommend this vacuum to everyone. Tom, Calif.

 "Love This Vacuum!" 2010-03-15
By Josette L. Romero (Newark, CA)
After researching and reading all the reviews I decided to take a chance on this vacuum. I am glad I did because I love it! I got this vacuum on sale at Fry's Electronics and loved the fact that I was able to play around and test the floor models before purchasing. It took me minutes to put together and then I put it right to the test. We have a a white boxer/pit mix and she sheds like crazy. Worse part is that her hairs are very short and coarse so it would get stuck in between the carpet weaves which makes it hard to get out. The Hoover handled it without any trouble and on the first try! I was really impressed and amazed at how powerful and light this vacuum was. I loved the rewind cord feature, the attachments were wonderful but the bagless and washable hepa filter sold me. I'm not a big fan of bags because we anticipate to own our vacuums for as long as possible and if you are fortunate enough to find a good one it should last you years to come which will cause you to run into problems like the bags or hepa filters no longer available. Worry no more because no bags and washable hepa solved that problem and will save us lots of money in the long run! Couldn't be happier! Sometimes you just gotta take the chance and go with your gut feeling and you can't really fairly judge a product based on a few bad reviews as with anything they could have just gotten an faulty one or have a different expectation than you. Had I went with the reviews I would have passed on a great vacuum that suited my needs and budget perfectly! Can't please everyone but this Hoover's got a fan in me!
