I love this tumbler. I've had one for a long time and always wanted a second one. I've never been a coffee drinker but when I drive, I have to have something for the road. I bought a second one from Amazon recently. Now I have one for water and one for hot cocoa or tea. I've used it several times for both cold and hot liquids. It keeps cold drinks cold...the ice never did melt down...and hot drinks warm enough to enjoy. They say it might not be so good for soda...it might "explode" when you press the button. I don't know...so far, I've only put ice water or hot cocoa in it. Great mug for traveling.

I have several of these that I purchased at a local salvage store and absolutely love them! They are very good looking, they're completely spill proof (you can lay it on its side, full, with no leakage whatsoever), they're very well insulated, and you can get replacement tops for them reasonably (and quickly) through the company: I found a mug with a broken lid for a dollar, and had a replacement lid within the week for $7.00 + S&H. I had a couple of Nissan mugs that were also nice but tended to collect mold under a seal at the top. These cleanup easily as well.

Can't recommend these highly enough!

I bought these travel mugs as a gift for my sister and husband and she says they work great! They are probably the best ones on the market right now. The AUTOSEAL button feature is patented an no other mug has as good a quality drinking feature. The cap screws on so there is no possibility of it coming lose and spilling. Keeps liquids warm for four hours and cold for twelve which is more than enough time for most people (they are vacuum insulated). All parts are dishwasher safe which is a plus.

I received my mug as a Christmas present in 2008 and have used it daily for the entire year. It keeps my coffee comfortably warm for many hours, and that's especially nice when I'm called away from my desk without having a chance to finish my cup. The shape is perfect for easy gripping including the placement of the release button. It never leaks which is a vast improvement over other travel mugs I've used. For the reviewer who mentioned the problem with cleaning the lid. Although I make sure to rinse the container and lid every day including running hot water through the spout, every few weeks I take the cup home and thoroughly clean with soap and hot water as well as a vinegar rinse. Seems to help a lot!

I purchased this mug because the stainless steel one i have from walmart gets water in the seams between the plastic top when you wash it and then leaks when i go to drink. Piece of junk. This mug is engineered perfectly. The bottom is one piece. The lid is easy to wash and fits securely and with only one turn. I've only had it one day and i can tell it will last a long time. My second favorite mug i bought at starbucks and it's made of the thermo plastic stuff. It was good for awhile and then i noticed the o-ring seal doesn't work as well. my coffee also went cold within 2 hours. Same cup all day and didn't notice it get cold till about 3:00 PM. I made the coffee at 8:00 AM. Amazing!

I carry coffee to work every morning and have tried other "non-spill" travel mugs which were NOT effective. The dredges inevitably leak in my work bag on my way home, however, this mug truly is leak-proof and my coffee stays hot for a long time! I use it for my morning coffee and let me just say I've had a lot of travel mugs and this one's the best by far! I make coffee at home in the morning so I can have at least one good cup o' joe a day.



It's generally the better part of an hour before I actually crack the seal on said morning cup and when I do I find the coffee to still be too hot to drink (a very good thing!) and it's accompanied by a nice "woosh" indicating an excellent leak-proof seal has been maintained since filling!



All in all money well spent.

Finally, a travel mug for my coffee I can trust not to leak! The cup holders in most cars are just not deep enough to keep things from tipping over when you make a turn, and this tumbler solves that problem completely (unfortunately, after years of carpet cleaning!) You can hold this one upside down and not lose a drop. And, at the end of the day, I can throw it in my brief bag and not worry about the last few drops leaking onto important papers. You do have to take care to clean the lid well as it does have a tight seal, but it's worth the extra effort. I love it, and am giving it many times over for Christmas!

I am a certified klutz. If I can spill something, somehow, I will. I have owned this mug for the last two years and have not ever spilled anything from it. I cannot recommend it highly enough. For me, it has kept things at the right temperature (generally hot things). It is easy to drink from; you don't have to do anything but hold it as you would any mug shaped like this, and your hand goes to the button without any trouble. It fits in my cupholder, it holds 16 ounces of coffee, and, unlike some other reviewers, I have not found it hard to clean. Both pieces go through my dishwasher just fine and come out clean and nice. When I have had to hand wash, I am careful not to overload the lid with soap, as it will hold the odor of the dish soap unless it is extremely well rinsed. It is stylish as well. But the most important thing? It does not spill.

This mug has a number of features for which I commend Contigo. Let's start with build quality. The mug has an ergonomic form, uses high quality materials, and a sound structure. I have a terrible tendency to drop things and this mug has been dropped numerous times without any damage other than dents and scratches. The flask is stainless steel on the inside and out, which promotes cleanliness and prevents staining. The top is a polymer which has a good balance of strength and shatter resistance. When you put something hot in it, it stays hot for a LONG time!! Cold things stay cold even longer. I prepare a cup of tea at 5:40 AM and sometimes don't get my first sip until 9:00 AM - and the tea is still HOT (not lukewarm) at that time. One of the best things about this product is the fact that it does NOT spill. It sure is nice not to have to worry about that! I carry this cup in my jacket pocket while full. My car does not have cup holders. I have been searching for a "spillproof" travel mug and this is the first one that I've found that can be filled with a hot liquid after being cold and then left top down for a while without spilling a drop. Try it. The air in the mug expands as it's heated and most travel mugs will begin to drip. NOT THIS ONE!!! Just make sure you vent the cup AWAY from your face before drinking by depressing the button while upright but pointed away from you. Same goes for soda. This cup is WELL worth the $40 if any of these things are on your priority list.

My fiance has been asking me for a coffee mug to carry in his car for a long time. Basically he wanted a mug without handles that would not spill. We have tried a couple different mugs but this has turned out to be the one! I ordered two so we both could enjoy. I really appreciate the fact the mug has no air hole so it cannot squirt coffee when I'm opening and closing the lid. Better yet, I can open and drink with one hand in one step. I hated having to reach over and unlock the lid and then drink. With this mug, I'm assured that it won't spill when I am not actually drinking. Great design!!



As I have read in other reviews about the Contigo stainless steel travel mugs, it is important to note this mug keeps your coffee very warm so if it is hot going in, it will be hot on your lips!

I purchased a two-pack of these from a local warehouse store, and I'm very pleased with them. They are definitely spill proof - you can hold it upside down without a drop coming out. The paperwork states that the stainless steel models are dishwasher safe (but not the plastic versions though). I've found that they keep a cup of coffee hot enough to drink for about 2 hours. I haven't had the cleaning issues that others have. I simply dishwash them and they seem to come out clean. I would think warm soapy water would also get them clean without much trouble.



Overall, I'd definitely recommend the Contigo Stainless tumbler.

I have been using this mug about 4 times a week for 6 months... but it's time to toss it. The idea of this mug is fantastic and its execution is good, but far from perfect. The design is durable and the no drip lid is very good...but there are a couple problems:





1. The lid has zero insulation. You lose a lot of heat through the radiant heat coming off the lid and as result, your hot drinks cool much faster than in a thermos type design or even a regular insulated mug with a thicker lid.



2. As everyone is starting to mention, the lid cannot be properly cleaned. I've tried the toothbrush, curling up wet paper towels and jamming it in there... but it just doesn't work. This causes your coffee to eventually have a very odd flavor and you won't be able to tell the difference between the gross burnt Starbucks beans you buy and the premium coffee... which sort of defeats the purpose.



Unfortunately I cannot recommend this simply because of the lid design. If you drink nothing but hot water it's probably perfect for you...
