"Works well until the hose clogs" 2010-06-16
By metamatt (San Francisco, CA USA)
I bought the equivalent model Shop-Vac at a local hardware store; it's not quite the same SKU carried by Amazon but I think its essential vacuuming abilities are the same.

This little vacuum has quite the appetite, until the hose clogs with stuff you're vacuuming, at which point the suction goes to zero and it won't pick up anything at all. It took me a while to figure out what the problem was; the owner's manual troubleshooting section says to check the filter but doesn't say anything at all about stuff getting caught in the hose.

I've been using this to clean up after an outdoor construction project, mostly sucking up sawdust but there are also some small leaves and pine needles which seem to clog the hose really easily. All in all, I find myself having to disconnect the hose and shake it out every 5 minutes.

The power of this vacuum is outstanding with sufficient suction. It can handle all tasks especially in my garage and cleaning 4 vehicles is much easier thanks to shop vac. I like the free shipping from Amazon and my order arrived on time. Great vacuum.

Husband loves this shop vac and was amazed at how much better it cleaned than his last one.

 "compact and powerful" 2009-11-05

I purchased the shop vac for use in my aviaries to clean up the cages and floors where the bird cages are and it works great -- I needed a strong--compact--vacuum with a wide hose to pick up bird seed and peanuts, etc. without getting clogged in the vacuum hose. I also wanted the versatility of being able to vacuum up wet and well as dry. I recommend this vac highly.

 "Powerful, compact, and durable" 2010-05-01
By cali
I love this little vac. It's small, has a very long power cord, long hose, and lots of suction. But it was my first shop vac so I didn't fully appreciate it until my brother broke the hose when he borrowed it for one of his little jerry-rigged projects, and I decided to just buy a new vacuum instead - since the price of the replacment hose w/shipping was the same price as a new vac.

Two vacuums later, I still haven't found one that works nearly as well as this ShopVac. So when latest vacuum bit the dust after only 2 months of use, I finally dug my ShopVac out of the shed, and despite being left out in the weather for several months the darn thing started right up. But at least now I realize what a little gem it is, and I will happily pay the shipping cost for the new hose.

"use it for house cleaning and still going strong after 7 years!" 2010-04-24
By L. Gale (Oregon United States)
I bought one of these, but model #315-97-00, 7 years ago and another one 2 1/2 years ago as a replacement just in case. Well, both are still going strong. I have found cleaning attachment tools from other vac brands fit nicely on this shop vac's wand.

There can not be enough said about this vacuum cleaner and I have had many spending $100 to $1200(rainbow brand) in the past... but find using this shop vac is a much easier was to clean as:

pros:

* the power is better compared to house cleaning conventional

vacs

* lasts for years

* clogs up less often as compared to other vacs

* very easy to carry around

* you do not need to take it to a repair shop for maintenance

* the vac is straight forward and simple

And all this for that price!

I have found using this vac for hard surfaces and a second upright vac made for carpets only is the best way to clean as:

* the power is so much stronger in both vacs

* less interruptions in having to clean out a clog

* the equipment is much lighter and easier to carry around

* both vacs last a very long time as compared to a combination vac.

I wanted something nice and compact, but I was wary that in getting a small vac, I'd be sacrificing power. Once I attached the wide brush and started cleaning things like my car and the felt top on our pool table, my worries disappeared. This vac is very convenient to store, but it doesn't lack in effectiveness. I'm definitely satisfied with my purchase.

 "Shop Vac Vacuum Recommendation" 2010-03-20
By H. Spurrell (Boston)
I spent $350 on a stand up Hoover, what a disappointment. It got blocked so many times in the one year that I had it. It was so frustrating, the people in the vacuum fix-it shop remembered me as I was in there 4 times that year. It was a waste of money. Then a friend suggested a basic Shop -Vac, and guess what? We love this product! What a find! Very reasonably priced, light weight, easy on steps, powerful and works great on both hard floors and carpet. I would recommend this vacuum. We haven't used the wet function yet. I would be cautious when spending money on big name vacuum brands from now on and go with this very basic but functional product.

Recieved my shop vac well before estimated delivery date and is everything I expected. This compact shop vac is ideal for doing stairs as that is what I purchased it for. I originally was looking at hand held vacs for doing the stairs but as I was researching them I stumbled upon this powerfull compact shop vac and really happy I did. This shop vac has 3 times the power of a hand held as I have owned a hand held Dirt Devil for years. With this unit you recieve much more cleaning power for the money. I highly reccomend this powerfull compact vac !
