Product does not include the end cap so save the old one. Might be a pain but have you ever tried to use the Sears website? Such a bigger pain and what a joke. The have (5) accessories listed under parts for a Kenmore Progressive Vacuum, when I search for Kenmore Progressive Vacuum Hepa filter there are NO results but just HEPA filter has over 1,400. hits. Yep, just really easy to order off Sear's website.



Sears really should get it together.

Multiple vendors list this replacement filter as being compatible with DCF-1 and DCF-2 vacuum cleaners. DCF-2 vacuum cleaners require a plastic cap at the bottom of the filter to keep dust and hair from entering into the vacuum cleaner itself and obstructing air flow. This specific filter does not come with a cap. The result is that your vacuum cleaner will lose suction every 30 seconds and begin emitting a very loud high-pressure air noise from the back of the unit, requiring shutoff of the vacuum cleaner and manual removal of the hair clog every 30 seconds.



Either make sure that the part you order has a cap included, or keep the old cap from your original filter. Otherwise, you'll find yourself re-ordering a replacement cap from the manufacturer.
