Very upset to receive this item and find that it is not "by Dyson" as the listing says. It is actually made by SpareSaver - a name not mentioned anywhere in the item description or details. I will be returning this right away. It may be a great alternative to the expensive Dyson-made filter but that's not what I wanted. This will be my first return to Amazon due to an inaccurate listing. I called Dyson and ordered a genuine part immediately. This is an expensive vacuum and I don't want to mess around.

Never loses suction my butt, the Dyson we had did start to have trouble picking up the littlest piece of lint. Seems the filter was clogged. Since the directions for cleaning the lifetime filter in the Dyson call for letting it dry for 18 hours or so after you wash it I decided to buy a spare so that the vacuum doesn't have to sit in pieces for a day. (Oh, and even tho they recommend letting the filter air dry for a day, I tossed it in the dryer and it came out fine.)

If you only have one..buy an extra..the filter must be completely dry or the smell will drive you out of the house. New filter - no smell. Now I have one dry and ready when i wash the dirty one.

I bought this unit to replace a dying 7.6v cordless vacuum that was at the end of its lifespan. I have four kids and was pretty excited about a new, better, more powerful hand vac. I received the Shark and, following advice I've seen on here, made sure to completely discharge the battery and then fully charge it for over 24 hours before first using it. I was extremely disappointed in the performance. It also seemed scuffed and used already. I then noticed the box said Refurbished on it and thought, I don't remember ordering a refurbished hand vac? In fact, [...] had the same unit for the same price, NEW, but I decided to go with Amazon for no real reason. I then checked the product's page on Amazon and it is extremely unclear when ordering it that it is refurbished. In fact, if you don't see the tiny print that says, "1 refurbished at $[...]", you would never know that you were not getting a new item. It doesn't say refurbished in the product description, nor when it's in your shopping cart, so if you just click Add To Cart, you would probably never see it.



I'd like to send this unit back, but I assume it was my fault for not catching the "refurbished" tiny text on the product page. I'm curious if everybody else that wrote great reviews about this product also had a refurbished unit, or if the seller just started pushing these out. Either way, I would greatly advice against this product based on my experience.

I have the Shark and also a B&D dust buster and hands down the B&D is better. now admittedly Shark has more initial power but it soon dies and the last 4 min. of power is totally useless then it takes ANOTHER 20 HOURS to recharge and in this case the manual is wrong you can't get a full charge is 10 hours. on the other hand the B&D is ALWAYS charged always ready for use. also Shark tech support is horrendous.

I bought this vacuum from the store after I lost my previous hand vac in a move. (the previous one was a different model and worked really well) After owning this vacuum for about a month I have already trashed it. I could not get this vacuum to pick up even the little stuff. I've actually had to bend down and stuff small items into the vacuum. Also, unless I hold it at just the right angle to the floor it won't pick up anything. I have only been using it on hardwood though, so perhaps it works better for carpet. It just didn't work for me.

I have a Black Lab/Beagle mix who goes with me everywhere I can take him. He's 15 and as active as a 5 year old. His hair gets on everything and my shop-vac only gets some of the hair off my seats and floor of my F150 truck. I saw this advertised at Target with the "motorized pet brush" and figured I'd give it shot. It works great! It picks up all the dog hair that seems to be inbedded in the upolstry of my truck. All you have to do is open the dump basket and see the amount of hair and dust that it has picked up to realize how good this really is. You have to make sure that the power brush is flush to the area you are vacuming otherwise it will not pick up anything. The only downside is that the full charge doesn't last too long. It was good enough for a complete vacuming of the front bench seat but started to die down after that. It still had enough power to do the back seat and floor. I would guess that it stays at full power with continuous use for about 15-20 minutes and then it starts to slow down. I never let it completely discharge - I don't trust that instruction; so when I have used at length or it has been sitting for awhile I will put it back on the charger until the charging light comes up green again. If you are going to some type of formal gathering and don't have time to pull out the shop-vac and clean your vehicle -or you forget, then this little gem can be worth its weight in gold.

Other than looking suspiciously like the toy Dirt Devil vacuum my daughter received for Christmas 10 years ago, this little vac is amazing! We have lots of hardwood and lots of dog fur. I hated dragging out my Dyson every day just to pick up the little crumbs and dog fur of everday living. I wanted something cordless to just grab and make a quick clean around the house- this vac fits the bill. It is amazing at picking up the dog fur and even picks up things that my Dyson left behind on the hardwood. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for something to pick up that annoying dog fur that likes to collect in corners. It is a little heavier than others, but works so well.

After trying other products, I did my homework and found this cordless was liked by more consumers than other brands/models. I have two large dogs with both wood and carpet flooring. The Accucharge has a conveniently located switch to change back and forth to beater bar use. I work from home and the back slider is usually open and the dogs are in and out all day. They bring the debris from the yard and dirt from the garden (even though it is suppose to be off limits.) I expected the rechargeable to get up the dog fur from the hard sufaces. What surprised me is how much fur it gets up from the carpet as well as actual dirt. I really never realized there was this much dirt on a daily basis! My husband laughs at me as he hears me say, "I don't believe all the stuff that just came up", because he's heard it dozens of times. I find that when I vacuum a hard surface for a extenderd time, I need to switch it to beater bar for a few seconds to get the fur that's accumulating on the bar. What a timesaver it is to not have the whole plug/unplug task. If you want to do a few rooms, work fast, the time does go fast. If you're slow, then this may be your one room wonder or not for you. For me, the time constraint helps to remind me that this is a "quick" clean and not to get caught up with perfection. I am in the habit of turning it off if I'm adjusting something or otherwise not actively vacuuming, those 1/2 minutes add up. This is not intended to replace your full size vacuum. However, I do need to pull out the full size less often. For the wood, this is much better than sweeping/ grinding dirt in to finish and it's easy to empty and no bags are required. This is not the rechargeable of years gone by, this really does have a little kick of power. It is rather loud (too loud for our Siberian, she goes out when I use it.) I would think this would also be great if you're just starting children on some cleaning chores or for elderly, as it is very easy to manage.

Took a gamble on this stick vac without ever seeing one in a store. Well worth the money. It's light; convenient to use; sturdy enough for what it does. We have Pergo floors in the kitchen, family room, entry and hallway. This vac will quickly pick the everyday dirt with out dragging around a heavy machine. It even picks up light dirt, cat hair off carpet. I use our built-in vacuum system for regular house cleaning on the carpets, but use the stick vac almost daily. It is very easy to use, but it does not replace a vacuum cleaner for sweeping your wall to wall carpets.

I've had this device for about three weeks now -- it was bought to supplement my Miele vaccuum cleaner, for upholstery, area rugs (which the Miele tries to swallow, whole) and stairs. The problem? It can take me two days to tackle one task, because the power charge -- even new out of the box -- is so poor. The first time I used it, I had charged it for 48 hours. The charge lasted 12 minutes. If I leave it for 10 plus hours, the charge never lasts longer than 10 minutes. I suppose it could be useful if all you're going to do is grab it off the power, blast at some crumbs you've just noticed, at replace it. But even to clean out my sofa once a week takes longer than this device can manage on a single charge.



I'm giving this an extra star because of all the handy little tools that come with it. (The AccuReach feature isn't all it's cracked up to be -- as soon as it hits the floor, it promptly retracts...) If the charge lasted longer, this would be powerful enough to handle the minor jobs I would like to be able to tackle without having to haul the vacuum cleaner out, hook it up, etc. (I live in an apartment; that's a big hassle.) I didn't notice any of the clogging problems that others reported, although I do notice that gunk clings to the filter, making for an occasionally messy cleanup.



All in all, poor value for money unless you like paying a premium price for a device able to tackle only the spot jobs.

Terrible battery life. After a year of use, the battery will not hold a charge at all. A TERRIBLE hand held. Whenever you hang the thing on the wall it points nose down and all the stuff simply falls out the end. One of these days, someone will make a handheld vacuum that has a good battery life or the battery is at least replaceable.

Ok, where to begin. First off the picture shows a silver and grey model. But I recevied a bright green/black one. Second, the battery is a nickel battery not a lithium ion battery. I followed all the intstructions for charging (which included always depleting the battery before recharging to maintain max battery charge ability). The most amount of time i ever had it operate was about 7 minutes, only 3 or 4 minutes of which was full suction power. Speaking of full suction power, the suction power of this vacuum is weak. I remember the first time I opened my trunk of my car to clean my trunk and I could barely pickup anything. I remember doing a self pity chuckle and told myself maybe its because its just the first time use and it has to be broken in. Nope, It always stayed like that. Who knows, maybe I got a disfunctional one, but I doubt it. This is one of the only items I have purchased from Amazon that I am not happy with. Shark this model fails.

When the Item came, on the box it said 'SV736N' as did the product description. However, if you open the product and look at the model number on the dustbuster itself, you see that it is, in fact, a SV736 - which doesn't come with the mountable charging unit. I called amazon and they said that they would take down this listing and investigate. Hopefully that happens. Caveat emptor. Gave one star b/c it's not the device i ordered. The vacuum works great - no issues there. The only thing that I see as a potential issue is that there is no cradle to hold the vacuum when it is not in use (being charged). The charger just plugs into the bottom of the vacuum. This looks like something that will eventually break, especially if my kids get a hold of it.
