you get what you pay for. Almost every part of this poorly designed vac cleaner has a fault. so let's start:

1) carpet/ floor nozzle doesn't stay in "brush setting" for hardwood floor

2) nozzle falls off

3) Connecting hose falls off the metal wand all the time and hits your toes/foot - ouch!!

4) cheap plastic hose twists and kinks off, resulting in loss of suction

5) the plastic body housing the vac mechanism constantly goes belly up everytime you manouvre it

6) cord got tangled inside housing after 8 months, I had to take the orange cover apart to fix it (harder than it sounds)

7) useless accessory brush - too small a footprint to do anything useful with it

8) poor suction even when it's turned up to MAX

9) holder for the wand broke off after 3 months, cheap plastic thing that's obviously not strong enough to withstand the torque of a long wand resting on it

10) So loud when it's going you better wear an earmuff if you don't want to go deaf prematurely



DO NOT waste your hard earned 60 bucks on this piece of crap!

So I have this vac and while it worked OK for a short period of time, the cord recoil mechanism eventually got stuck or something, reneding the vac almost useless. Since I have a yard sale coming up, I figured I'd spend 30 minutes trying to figure out how to repair the unit. Opening the vac is a big pain, but I've put the steps below:



1. If you open the section that holds the bag, you'll notice there are 4 screws (phillips head). You need to remove these 4 screws using a long handle screw driver, magnetic tipped would be nice.

2. There is 1 more screw holding the orange part onto the gray part. To get to this screw, you need to pull out the cord retract button (located on top of the unit). Be careful not to break this piece, you'll need it later. There is a big spring under the button, keep tabs on that as well. Now, there is a screw in one of the holes under this button. Use your phillips head screwdriver to remove this screw (again, magnetic tip would be nice).

3. Carefully remove the orange top, but be aware if will still be connected to the motor . Now, you can unravel the coil mechanism. There are two white wires that connect to the cord mechanism. If they are not reconnected, the unit will not start. Make sure these are connected, be careful because they don't have a lot of slack.

4. Replace orange cover, replace your coil rewind button / spring and put 4 screws in the collection area and start suckin'.



Hope this helps someone, I know it took me a while and a lot of searching to find an answer.

This is a good little vacuum and I can't complain about the price. It's light but powerful. One problem...the metal wand constantly detaches from the plastic wand it attaches to. It's dropped on my foot a couple of times which really HURTS. No matter how tight I insert it, it eventually detaches. I hope someone from Hoover reads this and that they do something about it.

I bought this cute little vacuum, and after absolutely hating it for nearly one year, I have junked it. First of all, it is very loud. Second, wildly flimsy. Beyond that all the tools fall off while you use it! Even the main floor attachment. To make this more aggravating, the actual hoses (the metal ones) fall off each other! It also has a flip brush option for carpet/hardwood. When you flip it into position, it just flips right back when you begin your task!

If I hadn't immediately thrown away all the packaging, I would have returned it.

Please dont waste your money on this piece of crap. I am sooooo surprised that hoover actually has not pulled it! I would never buy any hoover again.

I received my OTT LITE about two weeks ago (plus a spare bulb in case).

I am amazed at the various uses others have for this specialized light, because I bought mine for photography.

The OTT LITE is almost a household name in color printing and determining the true colors of your print.

Being an avid amateur digital photographer who loved to make my own prints, I finally bought an OTT LITE which is almost a necessity to judge prints.

I managed to use sunlight since I live in Florida, but there are a few days here and there, when the sunshine is wet.

Finally got my OTT LITE and it really has become one of those, "How did I ever manage my color without one of these before"?



Very sturdy. Hinge drag is easily adjustable, At first glance, you might think it would topple, but it is heavier than it appears, and acts like it is nailed to the table.

A heck of a buy at that price.

This rugged little lamp is as an excellent design. The frame is sturdy and made of superior grade plastic and my lamp has gone through thousands of openings and closings in the past and has shown no appreciable wear. I've also dropped it down a height of ten feet by accident, and while I wouldn't recommend repeating that incident the unit came through without a scratch. The lamp is incredibly versatile beyond its construction, the light is strong and the light the bulb produces mimics daylight. This makes it ideal for small craft and repair jobs, and also makes it an excellent source of supplementary light for indoor plants.

The only reason I didn't rate this product 4 stars instead of a five star rating is that the cord of the light is about 4 feet. which is rather short for a work/craft light, and carrying around is tiresome. The cord can also become a problem when using it as a work lite as the cord is not detachable and can be a hazard. In my case stumbling on the cord was what caused the ten foot drop. If a relatively short non-detachable power cord isn't a factor, then I can't recommend this light enough. I may even buy another in the near future myself.

This winds my bobbins too tight and too fast. If you could slow it down with a speed setting, I bet it would work beautifully. There are times when my thread wants to fly off because it spins so fast. It is a good concept especially since it can be used with or without a plug. I gave it 2 stars but I wish I could get my money back because of all the stress I have from trying to remove the thread that was wound too tight on it.

My bobbin rewind broke on my Singer and since everything else works on it and I love my machine, I didn't want to be without it waiting for a part. I happened upon the SideWinder and thought at first it seemed expensive, but it was cheaper than a repair on my machine so I bought it. It works. I haven't had it long so I can't speak for it's longevity but it does work quickly. My only negative is that you push the button to turn it on, but you can't push the button to turn it off. The machine stops automatically when the bobbin is full. But what if you don't want a full bobbin, then you have to either pull the plug or remove the batteries - very inconvenient. So, I would have given it a five if they would have made an "on/off" button instead of just an "on".

This thing isn't powerful enough to suck the water up. I used two tanks of water and I had a drizzle of water that actually came back up. I have short carpet too, which usually you can pull a ton of water out of. You can see the water trying to vaccum up, but it never pulls it hard enough to make it to the top and stay in the reserve. The only reason I think anyone feels like their carpet is getting cleaner is because you spray their cleaning solution on it and scrub it with a brush. I shouldn't have paid $[...] dollars for something a some carpet cleaner, scrub brush, and towel could have done just as well!!!!

We have ten cats and use this machine on a pretty frequent basis for puke and minor cleanups. We have been very pleased with the power and cleanup ability it really does a great job and keeps a good charge. We use to have a larger pet cleaner but it had a hose and even with cleaning it eventually it got a musty odor to it. With this machine you can clean the entire unit and there is no hose so it stays clean. In the past years we have gone through several of these type cleaners and this Bissell is by far the best working and gets up the spots the best. I would definitely suggest using these recommended cleaners for these type machines as they seem to do the best of getting up the stains. The two I use are: Bissell OxyGen2 32 fl oz (946 ml) and Bissell 2X 24-Ounce Pet Stain and Odor Advanced Formula.

This is my 3rd Bissel SpotLifter and its seems that I get about 3 years battery life out of these. For our house, when the dog has an accident this is used for extraction and it does a great job.

We have 2 Chihuahuas, and this can handle anything these 2 lil gals can dish out. We even take extra cleaning solution with another cup or two of water for a rinse, and this vac handles it all. Durability is good and it is easy clean. I gave only 4 stars because I think the dirty water tank could come off a bit easier than it does, as the release knob seems a little small and I find it a bit awkward to push, but thats a minor issue for me.
