I bought this pumper to replace one manufactured by the same company I have had and used for about fourteen years. The earlier model has a glass reservoir. The Zojirushi Stainless Steel Easy Serve (pumper) has a stainless steel reservoir, not all of their models have a stainless reservoir. I perk a pot of coffee, the old fashioned style, every morning and put the coffee into a pre-heated pumper. I drink coffee throughout the day and the pumper keeps the coffee hot all day long. The older model kept fluids hot only about half a day. The unit is easy to take apart and clean. My grandmother had a restaurant in San Francisco for over forty years. We purchased our coffee and coffee related equipment from "Farmers Brothers" and the salesman gave me a great hint about cleaning stainless and glass coffee ware. Use "Seventh Generation" "powdered" Dishwasher soap. It is the same stuff that the commercial coffee suppliers sell as coffee equipment cleaning powder and is much less expensive. You can find it at the following grocery stores: Raley's, Bel Air, and Nob Hill stores. I have also found it at some health food stores as it is considered a "Green" cleaning detergent. Be sure to thoroughly rinse the pot and the pumper tube before using the pumper after you wash it! The bottom line, I REALLY like the pumper and I think you will too!

It would have been more helpful to know the height of the pot without the lid. It was a bit taller than I needed but we made it work and it keeps the liquid hot for a very long time. Half a pot of hot coffee left on Friday is still warmer than luke warm by monday morning.

I'll admit, I was a bit apprehensive, due to the "blemish" comment in the product description. Ultimately, none found! This airpot is the best one of the last four I'd purchased, two of which were also of the 'pump handle' variety. The brushed stainless finish also coordinates well with my other countertop appliances. I plan to buy another one for the vacation home to replace the 'button pump' type we have there.

This thermos holds the same volume as my previous thermos, but is shorter and much lighter. The push button top works very well, and pours without spilling a drop (a huge complaint about my previous thermos). This is an incredibly well made product and I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a reliable thermos.

This thermos does a good job at keeping things hot, and I really like the slim design. It makes it easy to fit into brief cases and lunch boxes. I have not noticed any negative affects of the Teflon lining, other than it gets stained from coffee over time. I also like the fact that it is .5L (17 oz.) so I get one extra ounce compared to the 16 oz. thermoses, but this is still smaller on the outside than most of them.



The really objectionable part of the design is the stopper. As at least one other reviewer mentioned, it is very intricate and allows for lots of little spaces for buildup to occur. There is a fairly delicate o-ring that seals on the bottom side of the stopper. Over time, this o-ring seal gets buildup on it and then tends to stick to the stopper when the mechanism opens, rather than moving with the plunger as it should. When the mechanism is then closed, the o-ring becomes an obstacle to the plunger and the thermos will leak. After having a coffee sogged mess a few times, I now make sure to check the location of this o-ring every time before I use the thermos. The opening and closing mechanism also tends to get sticky over time. I have only used this thermos for black coffee, nothing with sugar or other sticky stuff.



I have had this product about 18 months, and am on my second stopper. Zojirushi customer service reluctantly sent me a new one when the first one failed after 6 months. If they come out with a new (less complex) stopper design, this would be the best thing going in a small thermos. As it is, the frustration of using it is great enough that I am ready to replace it even though the body is still in good shape.

I had carried tea or coffee to work every day in my old thermos, which was impossible to clean completely, so it picked up mildew and threw off the taste of everything I put in it.



Then comes this little gem...



I was amazed when I returned home from work to find that the tea from the morning was still hot enough to burn my tongue! Other than a burned tongue, I'm very happy with the performance of this thermos. You do need to prep the thermos by filling it with hot water beforehand, but it doesn't have to be boiling, mine never is. I fill mine with tea or coffee from a Keurig coffee maker (comes out at 192 deg F).

A very beautiful item with excellent insulation properties. However, take heed of the directions very carefully! This thermos is only good for water, or at the most fluids that can be READILY RINSED out. So, that pretty much excludes most of the things you might wish to put in there, such as coffee, tea, milk, sugary drinks. The reason? The pouring mechanism, while space-age and cool, cannot be dissembled for cleaning, nor can the inside of the thermos be easily accessed. Brushes and other cleaning devises just don't cut it, so the inside ends up getting very stained, and eventually the seal on the pouring mechanism fails after a few months of drinking your favorite drink percolated through whatever old dried up drink/food that has gotten trapped in the pouring mechanism. Mine lasted about three months and is now useless. So, do yourself a favor, forgo style over function, and find a thermos with the tried and tested simple screw cap design.

this thermos initially kept my coffee hot for hours but after bringing it to work on my bike a few times (i assume, no visible damage was done) it's lost that ability. the outside of the thermos is now quite hot after filling it with coffee & consequently heat loss is rapid.



additionally, the cap has a lot of space where water can hide so after i wash it it doesn't dry all the way and eventually that leads to a mildew sent. if you live in a dry climate it probably won't be an issue, but it was for me.



spend your money on something else.

Nissan makes the best commuter travel mugs around. They are very durable and keep you coffee warm for hours even on the coldest of days (winter in Chicago). I've been buying Nissan thermal cups for years. Everytime I try another brand, I am hugely disappointed. All thermal cups are not created equal. Nissan keeps its promise to keep liquids hot for hours. It works even better if you pre heat it by adding boiling water first and keeping it in until you are ready to put your drink in. I will never try another brand again, no matter how fancy the packaging.

I bought this product because the the ratings and reviews. It leaks from the top. Maybe I have a faulty one but as soon as my mug it tilted tea spills out through the sprout. It is not worth the price. I am back to using the cheap plastic one I bought at target because at least it does not drip on my clothes.

I purchased this item and finally got around to using it. First of all, it is a nicely designed, clever little device. Four small bowls fit snugly into the thermos shaped receptacle, which is similar in size to a small Thermos. The black case is very clever - has a handle for carrying from above, as well as one along the side to sling over your shoulder. When I first opened the bag, I was positive that the lunchbox would not fit through the opening. I was wrong! The bag zips open along the side, making removal a snap. The bowls are nicely sized to pack a more than adequate lunch.



I do have some criticisms. The soup bowl lid was not entirely leak-proof. It also didn't keep my soup entirely hot, but I think that this was because I removed all the other bowls from the case and there was too much space and therefore not enough preservation of heat. The spork provided is really cute but as a spoon it wasn't great. But I was perfectly happy slurping up my soup with chopsticks helping to shove food into my waiting mouth.



I still am pleased with it. It is a little pricey but I think worth it.

Look, I'll get on with it: I take the bus to work every day. I do not own a car, not since the incident. For the last six.3 months I have been plagued by a bus stop bully named Gerald, last name unknown. He torments me. Steals my lunches, throws my papers into oncoming traffic, pushes me around, takes my glasses and throws them into the tree overhanging the bench on which I sit. He does this despite my advanced age, and none of my fellow busmates come to my defense. I became sick and tired of working hard mopping floors all day long without a lunch. It's tiring business, janitorial services, and at my age I need to refuel constantly.



That's why I bought the steel-lined lunch jar, silver. It is the best, most secure container for my foodstuffs that I ever owned. Before heading to the bus stop I pack it with mayonnaise and pickles, my favorite lunch. I secure the lid before chaining the jar to my body, padlocked three times, once under each armpit and then a giant ten-pound padlock which rests on my chest. The first day I did this Gerald was not happy, the others looked at me like I was crazy; but I knew better. My lunch was secure.



And then Gerald grabbed from my hands the collection of papers I keep on my person in case of emergency. Stop, I yelled. Stop! Too late. He threw them onto the street where they were promptly run over by some oblivious motorist. To the laughter of Gerald I walked into the street to pick up my papers, now caked with dirt and asphalt. It was not enjoyable. But above all my lunch was secure, and I was guaranteed a delicious rejuvenating meal. If it were not for Zojirushi I don't know what I'd do.

I love this item. A LOT! I can fit healthy size lunches (or dinners) and it stays hot/warm. I noticed people talking about the smells their containers picked up. I'm happy to say mine is smell free thanks to a trick a friend taught me. Place cabbage into it and let it sit over night (especially if you had something extra stinky). The cabbage absorbs the odor and the nasty smell is gone. (Don't eat the cabbage after though, it might taste a little funky.)



If you are up for a unique approach to healthier eating, than this is for you. Traditional bento style meals are best. so if you prefer huge American sized portions, you might want to reconsider.

I commute 40 miles a day by bike, and with all that riding I'm supposed to consume 4,000+ calories just to break even. The Mr. Bento is the first container I've used that allows me to carry that much food without making a mess or taking up too much room in my pannier. Its insulation keeps hot food hot and cold food cold, but of course it can't do both at once, so it's best to carry everything cold and pop the should-be-hot food in the microwave upon arrival. The containers clean easily and do not absorb food smells or flavors. All around, it's a great product.

I found this item very useful and worked exactly as described. My only complaint is the soup bowl is small. In fact, it is the smallest of the containers. You can not put an entire can of soup if you want to eat just soup for lunch. The "rice" container is the largest and if you are trying to watch your carbs the food pyramid is set up backwards. You cannot put soup or liquids in any of the other containers as it will leak. The soup bowl has a screw on top whereas the other containers have plastic lids that either twist on or snap on. I wish the product review would have stated the soup container is the smallest as that was my primary purpose in buying the product.

I purchased this iron just before Christmas, 2009; this is the best iron I have EVER used. I have never had an iron that put out the amount of steam this does. I hate ironing; my husband wanted me to shrink a bunch of his older dress shirts which were made of cotton, and didn't have much polyester in them. Some of them were incredibly wrinkled. After much steaming, with my new iron, these shirts looked like they had come pressed from a cleaners.



The only thing I would change, if anything, would be to have a slightly longer cord. Other than that, this iron is phenomenal, and I highly recommend it.

I thought this one will not hold enough warm/hot water for the whole night when we make our baby's milk. I was wrong, it did... and more. We can bring this and put it in her diaper/feeding bag when we travel - that way she'll have warm milk every feeding. It has a sturdy, stainless steel body plus with just a little twist, out comes the liquid - without having to remove the stopper completely. The main cap can be used as a cup. This also works well for cold beverages/liquids. To clean, I'd recommend using a non-scratch baby bottle brush such as Sassy. One of the best products I ever bought! Well worth the money!

I really like this product. I read all the reviews on here prior to purchasing it and found them to be very accurate. It's a great thermos, good size and keeps drinks hot for long periods of time. Preheating and using the pour spout extend the temperature range and time liquid remains heated. I haven't tried it cold yet but, can't imagine this would let me down. It's a Thermos brand product so I wasn't surprised that's it's great quality, just updated to fit my needs.
