I have not had ANY luck with these things staying sealed. I have about 10 of them. They work for about 3 days, then give up. I have even gone so far as to seal the zipper closng with packaging tape. No luck. Now I have all these bags I have to periodically re-vacuum every couple of months. I don't overfill them, I underfill. Great Idea if they really worked. I'd be happy if it stayed sealed for 6-months.

I've purchased Space Saver bags several times. They are great at first, but I'm finding when the items are stored, after a period of time they are no longer air tight. I even double wrapped a few items in an inner Space Saver bag and an outer Space Saver bag and still they did not remain air tight. These bags are expensive. I'm disappointed.

I have a heavy and thick goose down comforter quilt and it's a very warm quilt. Only problem is that in san diego it only comes in handy maybe about 2 months of the year. So I decided to buy a new thin quilt and store the warm one. Because of the lack of space in my closet, I went with the Space bag and I was initially skeptical of the bad reviews at first so that is why I bought it in the store so I can easily return it. The bag worked fine and it allowed me to store the quilt under my low bed.



So far so good, no air leaks.

These bags are a good idea if the plastic was a little more durable. I've had two of these bags that already busted and I've had plastic bags from the grocery store, that no matter how much we kick, step, or sit on them, they don't bust like these cheap bags.

Out of the three bags we ordered, we have exactly one bag that works properly. Both of the others vacuum down well, but then re-inflate within a day or two.



We were very careful to seal them by sliding the plastic piece across the zippers multiple times and did not over stuff the bags - so I don't think there was an error on our parts.



It's unfortunate that none of the manufacturers of these type of bags can seem to get it right, because they really are wonderfully useful when they work.

I fight a mighty large urge to say that I hate these things. I don't hate them. They work, to a degree, but be forewarned that these bags do not do all that they say they will. By that I mean that these bags may suck the air out and save space so-to-speak, but that air comes back gradually. These bags don't stay that small for long. Sure, they do stay somewhat small, but what they show you on the commercial is no where close to what they really do for you. As far as packing is concerned, they do the trick. The air is released gradually so you can pack tightly with no worries, but I've been using these to store my daughter's clothes away as she grows out of them and so when used as a space saver for a long extended period of time, they are not as great as one would like them to be. Also, these bags can be tricky to close, which can be frustrating. Bottom line is that these things work, but not as well as one would like. I use them, but I'm not a very happy customer.

Space bags are amazing. It is fun to watch all the air being sucked out of the bag when you hook the vacuum up. We were able to get all of out clothes into 1 suitcase instead of 2. This saved us $50 ($25 each way for a checked bag on the airline)

I got one of these a few weeks ago, but I'm not sure how it's going to do in the long term. I have far too much bedding and off season clothes in my basement and being able to compact the bags full of linen seemed like the ideal solution, and will allow me to empty out a storage unit and transfer those items to the basement. This bag seemed like a great idea to take care of the bedding. I got a comforter and several sets of sheets in it (not over filled), but upon inspection two to three weeks later it has already leaked in some air.



I think the weak link is the valve, which is fairly cheap in manufacture and clearly not robust enough to stand the test of time. The entire cap can literally come off with ease, a clear indication that it is going to have a weak seal. I think coffee bags have better one way valves, to be honest.



As of now I am satisfied, the items are still compacted and protected for the most part by the bag and the outer case. Here's hoping it will keep out smells and the damp. However, I don't think I'll be buying other styles in this brand except to test and possibly return if the valve is the same or equally as weak.

Great product! I was able to put the equivalent of two 64-quart plastic storage boxes in this one bag. My husband was amazed and said he would not have believed it had he not seen it. We were able to get all of our little girl's clothes from birth to six months into the one bag - and she has TONS of clothes! The tote is a nice extra and gives the bag and her clothes a little added protection. We will definitely be buying more in the future.

The first time I bought spacebags I went to the spacebag website and got a whole kit which included three (3) totes: 2 jumbos and 1 under-the-bed. The regular spacebags are not good, sometimes they hold the vacuum and most times they don't. I still use them though, mostly to separate different sizes of baby and toddler clothes and then I put then inside the totes. The totes are great. Since that first purchase I have gotten more. I own seven(7) of them and they have never fail me so far. I read some reviews about the handles ripping of, that has not happened to me and believe me I pack mine full, and they are always heavy. Don't waste your money on regular spacebags, get the totes instead and you wont be sorry. Keep in mind that when packing regular clothes as they are not bulky as sweaters you won't be able to fit as much, as there is not much air to suck out. But your clothes will come out nice and clean and fresh smelling. In the case of wool sweaters they will be protected from moths. I used to keep my sweaters in an unused drawer and they all got holes from moths. Spacebags totes are a great investment!

Some people wrote that they can't get a square shape once vacuumed. Don't expect to get a perfect boxy shape like the adds. It simply is very hard. Some of you clothes may be some bulky than others and therefore will compress less or more

I have owned many, many space bags over the years and thought this would be a great idea. I bought it for my sister-in-law while visiting her. It was either already was torn or very weak and broke as soon as I tried to put an item in it. It never even saw a vacuum. She lives across the country so I would have had to take up space and pack it in my suit case and then spend time waiting in line only pay $10 to mail back a $20 item. This item was not up to par and not as strong as the 12 piece set I got for the same price at a membership club store. Nice idea, poor product control.

I normally am a huge fan of Space Bags. We have limited storage space and lots of big bedding items, and Space Bags typically make life much easier for me. This one, however, did not work at all. It was hard to pack items into due to the shape and size of the outer storage bag, and every time I tried to seal it (well within its limits, I know not to over-stuff) it snapped right back open. Even worse, the items I packed in it now have a very peculiar odor, almost like rancid oil. They were freshly laundered going in, and I used the bag within two days of getting it in the mail. I'm very disappointed.

This was the first Space Bag we've bought. From reading reviews about other vacuum bags, my spouse thought it might not seal, but it worked without any problems. She especally liked the fact that it's encased in canvas fabric with a zipper and handles, so it will work even if the airtight seal breaks (which it hasn't).

The Space Bag Under-the-bed storage tote has been good for my uses so far. I had wanted to try a space bag out for a while and when I did get it it performed pretty well. Keep in mind that the same technology that seals the seams in this or other space bags is the same that seals pizzas like Frechetta or DiGornio. With enough pressure on the seams this plastic bag will tear just like pulling apart the tabs to split the pizza wrapping. So be sure to use this bag for something that can actually be compressed withing reason. This includes most fluffy things like Comforters and stuffed animals followed by poofy down coats and sweaters. These are not miracle bags where it shifts already close knit items to it's tightly packed compression at the atomic level. We still leave this in the realm of science fiction. However if can shift the air from in between your items that have a lot of give to them like the poofy fluffy examples above. The poofier it is the higher you can fill it but the stiffer it is the less as the contrary. You can find other items that can do a similar job for a lower price but for the job it does and with correct use it receives 4 stars.

I ordered several of these bags in large and medium. They mostly worked out fine except there must have been a defective one in each lot as one of each did not hold the vacuumed air. The medium one burst at the seam when the zipper tab ran over it. Don't know why the large did not hold the vacuum. All in all, this is a pretty nifty product when it works.

I have BOXES of these things. So far, NOT ONE has stayed deflated. They do keep the water out, but as a space saver, they don't work. I think the valves are not sealed well, and so the air gets back in within a day or two.

I am slowly being shoved out of my home due to my husband and my piles of clothes and household textiles we have. We had 4 children and now the last has moved out. I thought space bags were great at first; but four months later they've completely lost their vacuum (I kept them sealed up inside a sturdy container, so there was no damage to the bag), and after emptying one of the bags, my clothes have an AWFUL smell. It's an incredibly gross plastic smell, and after four washes, it is still there. If this smell doesn't go away, then I can't wear these clothes anymore since it is such an offensive odor. Also while I was packing one bag it tore since the material is so thin. Space bags are a huge waste of money; so save your money for a nice Tupperware type container, because space bags are not durable, they lose vacuum, and they STINK!!

What a HUGE disappointment. I bought the extra large and the pack of 3 and none of them held their seals. The extra large one broke where you zip it. What a huge waste of money, I have told everyone I know about this product so they don't waste their money. I can see this happening to one maybe, but it happened to all 4 that I got. You might as well pack your stuff in a garbage bag. Those who rate this product immediately after using it are doing a disservice to others. Take some time to see if it lasts. We used several and after 4 weeks (probably earlier but didn't check) the vacuum was gone and was totally expanded. Instead of being an inch thick, it was now a foot thick. We stored them under a bed and had trouble getting them out as once expanded they pushed up against the bed bottom.

Great in theory, dismal failure in execution. I tried these once before, the main problem is that they dont stay sealed, air escapes and they become nothing more than overpriced plastic bags. The luggage size, non-vacumn sealed rolled variety dont work at all. The vacumn sealed larger bag sizes arent much better. Of my previously purchased set, I have only one bag that survived my move sealed, flat and intact.

My new place has limited storage so I gave it another try. Now, its 1:22am, I've been fighting with a brand new pack for several hours. I have the floor littered with 6 large stuffed bags. I've tried re-vacumning and resealing and even duct taping - they plump right back up! I give up!!! Never again. Just use garbage bags. The only benefit is that you can see whats inside and that it is a thick, sturdy plastic bag.
