I waited a good long time before I reviewed this product. I wanted to make absolutely sure that I knew everything about it before I sang its praises to other possible customers. I must say that I am impressed. First with the suction power. For a handheld vac, it doesn't leave much behind (within reason.) One must consider, of course, that it is not meant to pick up bowling balls or objects too big to comfortably fit into the opening. It is great for dirt, grit, animal hair, rabbit poops, moths, and even spiders, though I would recommend emptying the easily removed bag and filter inside lest the spiders and moths work together to escape and go up your nose while you are sleeping. The charger can be wall mounted, which is nice, though I did not use this feature. It is easy to clean, but the precision suction funnel tube thing did not really come in handy because I had trouble keeping it locked in place. It works perfectly fine without out. Believe me, I did a lot of research reading customer reviews before I decided to try this brand and model out. I was not disappointed. Lastly, the battery in the appliance holds a charge for quite awhile when not in use, and I have left it unplugged for as much as a week between uses and it still did the job. Not so great for use with extremely fine dust particles as the filter is not precise enough. Also I would not recommend using it for wet things. All in all, GREAT JOB!

We have hardwoods and a big dog that molts twice a year (blows her coat) so this was purchased just to pick up the seasonal Fur Babies that congregate within hours of vacuuming. The battery has a very short life but I can hit all of the corners before it is finished. Does not pick up cat litter well at all. Fur fills the small cup quickly. The cup is easy to clean, but you do have to touch fuzzy contents. The toggle type power switch is distant, awkward and snaps into the "On" and "Off" position -- if you have small hands it may take both of them just to turn it on and/or off. The attached crevice tool is a nice feature. We have had several Handheld Vacs and know their many limitations, this one does do the job i purchased it for. I gave it 2 stars because of it's very light duty, weak suction, short battery life, and awkward design.

Our Golden Retriever, Murray, leaves clumps of "furry Murray" hair all over the house. My floors are entirely hardwood and tile and my huge upright vacuum is a pain in the tush to haul out daily. I was so hoping this would be 'the one', portable, light weight, taking up little storage space. Mine (new) arrived in a box with the parts not secured within the box and obviously parts were missing. The seller tried to charge me to return the product even though I did not receive the entire product. Because of that fact, I was unwilling to try to purchase again. Amazon helped with resolution to see that I was refunded, but it should not have come to that. What parts were there, I can only comment that the handle seemed very light weight (like hollow aluminum).

I have purchased this stick vacuum cleaner before. I love this vacuum because it is small, thin and it's convenient to put in the corner of my closet. I live in a small condo and I don't have the room for a regular size vacuum cleaner. The down side to this product is that it will last for about a year and then you have to buy another one. The black cord that covers the wiring causes a short when it starts to unravel from daily use and you can't use the vacuum cleaner.

As other reviewers said, this looks like a cheap little toy when it comes out of its box. BUT, it weighs almost nothing, it costs about $10 less than a Swiffer, it picks up dirt and other stuff my Swiffer won't, and it doesn't need pads constantly replaced. It even picks bits and pieces off my wall-to-wall carpet. This is the best purchase I've made in ages. The only negative is that it won't stand upright by itself or against a wall. That's a tiny drawback compared to its price and cleaning ability.

I've only used a few times, but it works just fine. Not a cleaner for the lazy. Filter should be cleaned after each use especially if you have inside animals. Works great at picking up pet hair. I'm in a wheelchair so the light weight is really nice. I'll buy another when this one goes.

I see that there are tons of reviews attaching to the Eureka 409B "Widetrack" vacuum. Having just used it, again, I want to chime in on the tales.

I've no hesitation when I say this is a very good machine. The Eureka 409B works wonderfully, has a lot of power, and perhaps most importantly it's easy to maneuver. Further, it's simple to clean. The telescoping handle is useful fully extended; using said handle at half-mast can be perfect too. As to ease of cleaning the filter, I myself, after withdrawing filter from the receptacle into which it nicely fits, find that a dinner fork can be useful to scrape the larger, fibrous debris from the filter proper, into the trash, without raising too much dust. After removing the coarse stuff, taking the filter out of doors and tapping it against something firm rids it of annoyingly small dust particles -- no sweat.



I like everything about the vacuum, except the noise it produces. This abundant noise has been consistently commented on in other reviews of the Eureka 409B, and I concur with those reflections: it's a Screamer! Notice the capitalization, please. But! For what this little dainty does, it's worth buying a cheap pair of compressible earplugs that can be stuffed rapidly into your ears prior to using the Eureka 409B, if you are particularly noise sensitive. As kids say: It's, like, totally worth it!



Note: As my "Browser" disallowed me giving the Eureka 409B a full 5 Star rating, let me say that I would have rated it at 5, rather than 4 Stars, if I'd been allowed ---- Oh, the wonders and frustrations of computers!

Perfect for my small home. It's light and powerful for it's size, plus it's a very sexy bright red. Compared to a full size, cumbersome, loud sucking vacuum cleaner, it much quieter. My kitty, however, still runs to hide under the kitchen table.



It's bagless design is very easy to use, no accidental spills like other bagless vacuums. Just unsnap from the front of the unit, remove and clean the filter, then dump the contents into a trash can. Very cool not fumbling around looking for where I stored the vacuum bags last time or knowing when they are full.



I was amazed at the level of kitty hair trapped by the integral filter, a testament to the vacuuming power. Being able to actually see the contents building up in the container while vacuuming is very handy.

I'm very disappointed by the Eureka 12 Amps Boss Mighty Mite Canister Vacuum Cleaner and don't understand why it gets these high ratings on here. When I bought this I knew it was not going to be the best vacuum cleaner because of the price, but the suction is so poor it is just worthless. It leaves most dirt behind because of its poor suction. The straight wand and floor nozzle are made of a very flimsy and light plastic material that make using it a real challenge. The floor nozzle has tiny plastic wheels that don't roll well on carpet. I've always had canister vacuum cleaners with metal wands and more substantial nozzles before this and I just don't understand why this company decided to make it plastic. I advise anyone to spend a little more on a better vacuum cleaner than this piece of junk. It is anything but 'mighty'.

I bought this vacuum based on Consumer Reports' good review. I disagree, however. The foot peddle release part broke off after two uses so the unit stays up but falls down easily, and if it falls down on your foot, ouch. This vacuum is very heavy and clunky and it feels awkward when in use. Definitely not good for stairs. It's also hard to push on carpet when it's not on. Other plastic pieces have broke including the tube so now it doesn't stay in it's designated spot. The hose doesn't stay in it's designatd spot either and if it's not getting tangled with the cord, it's dragging on the ground. You also have to apply a lot of pressure to change the lever at the base which allows you to switch between carpet and bare floor. And above all that, it doesn't pick-up well on bare floors. I agree with another reviewer who said this is not a vacuum you would want to buy for grandma - definitely not. I'm a fairly strong, young woman and I have a difficult time with it. It's not for children either and this is a great way for them to get out of doing this chore. I cannot believe all the good reviews and I will think twice next time I consider a Consumer Reports review, i.e., do additional research such as check Amazon's reviews. This is a terrible product and I highly doubt I'll ever buy another Eureka.

I bought this vacuum about 18 months ago and have been unhappy with it since I purchased it. It is big, heavy and clunky. The foot pedal for on and off is not easy to operate. I have kept it because I have a cleaning service do most of my cleaning but recently had guests and needed to use it between service. It simply does not help me in getting carpets free of dog hair and dust. I am in the market to buy another long before I had hoped it would be needed.

Got this item recently, finally got to use it in earnest and it rules. Did our bedroom today and got rid of dust and fuzz I couldn't believe was there--the Power Paw accessory is excellent. It's got a spinning brush head which is like a mini vacuum cleaner on an extension handle so you can get everything under your very awkward to move bed without having to move it. This vacuum is very heavy and would be a real hassle for someone with a two story house (fortunately, I don't have to lug this monster upstairs). The bag fills up far more quickly than those of previous vacuums I have owned. Overall, I would say it is an "ok" vacuum. It does the job and picks up dirt well, but the weight makes it cumbersome. Not a vacuum to buy for your grandma.

It is a powerful and durable vacuum cleaner. It works great on my carpeted floors. I do not think it does the best job on the bare floor as much, so I use the attached tools to clean the kitchen floor. If you look for a light weight machine with a retractable cord, do not get this. I like this machine overall, but I wish it were less bulky and could vacuum under my sofa.
